Hi, I am selling for the first time. Bidder on item is wanting me to end my listing and reopen it with a buy it now option. There is five days left in auction and 14 watchers. Is it a good idea to do as the bidder request or let things play out?
thanks

If I were in your shoes, I would let it play out. However, I have no idea what that jersey is worth and am certainly no expert on sports items.

In my opinion, I would leave it. The jersey can sell for more. But if you're happy with getting that amount, change it.
Up to you.

Your choice of course, but i would not unless they are offering a really good price that you are willing to let it go for.
Do not put any stock into the amount of watchers. My experience is that it usually means nothing.
Other sellers may have a different opinion though.

Just looked at your auction.
I have a lot of experience selling jerseys online & would consider that a very good opening bid for a pre-owned jersey. Even if it sells for that price that is also a pretty good amount.
Of course i do not know your cost, hopefully under five.
You shipping price is also competitive.
Good luck with the auction.

I find that, maybe, 10% follow through and buy.
In my experiences i would agree.

Let me start off by saying that I have done that on occasion and it worked out well. There is always the chance that it won't though, and you will be stuck with the item for awhile. You have a bidder, and the possibility of more bids, so I would not change it at this price. 14 watchers is good, and it may translate into more bids, but I have had many auctions expire with a ton of watchers still there, so that really means nothing in the overall scheme of things.

I agree.
Was watching a Doug Flutie Game Worn BC Lions with all the tags for over a year. Price was 1500.
Just recently they put it up on auction with a starting price of 100., i believe it went up to just over 200. with five days to go & then disappeared.
Obviously they got a good price for it.

I agree let it run.And good Luck 🙂

Personally I would simply leave the auction running and create a buy it now auction with the price you want BUT with a 24 or 48 hour time window, if the buyer never responds you still have the auction running if the buyer does respond you can close the auction. I wouldn't close the auction with that many watchers, I used to sell books and in that category alot of watchers generally translated into a bidding war the last day of auction.

I find when people ask a seller to put a BIN on an auction they are often hoping the Price wil be substationally less that what they expect the item will go for if left as an auction
awhile back I had a guy writing me asking me to consider a BIN price for a Post Card I had The card was one of the first produced for the area it was related to and very rarely shows up for sale. I know he was hoping I would not know what the card was worth in todays market. I wrote him back saying I would leave it as an auction
The card sold for what I expected it would and was alot more than the BIN price he asked for. The guy who wrote me did bid on it but was the 3rd bidder back from the winning bid
I had a good feeling about this card knowing what it was and it worked out to my benefit to leave it as it was. Could have gone the other way though At times expensive items sell well below what they are worth here If it had I would have been disappointed but would have accepted the fact it was not meant to be
Personally I won't consider BIN requests on my items. If I want a BIN price I will put it on the item as I'm creating the listing . Sometimes I win other times I don't but that's part of the business
