Were you ever able to get an explanation/reasoning for your situation or how it got resolved? If you can pass that on we can add to our database of eBay problems for future reference and how others should proceed if they land in the same boat.

nope no explanation or reason other than what i can figure out id when you go above 1.99 defect rate each day that happens they delist some of your listings tell you get back to under 1.99% then you have to wait till the closest 22 nd of the month before they rekist them back slowly -- seems they want to make a point -- point taken ebay i understand -- this is about bullying and not about making money for you ebay and me i will really try to stay under 1.99% from now on- even if it means not helping a customer out which is why i got into this mess in the first place months months ago-- all is well today

Glad you got an "explanation" but sorry it took so long. When sellers do something eBay wrong it just would be nice if eBay could be transparent and explain EXACTLY what the wrong was so they don't do it again or know what they can do to easily correct. eBay from day 1 can be a learning experience. No one is going to be perfect all the time. Same goes for looking stuff up in help. Ask several CS reps the same question and get several different explanations so they shouldn't expect sellers to be the same. Was sooo much better to walk the eBay tightrope when there was actual dedicated eBay staff available 24/7 when you could get clarification when you needed in the past to solve those issues as they cropped up.
Best of luck and hope you don't fall into any of those weeds going forward!!!
