How to know if a seller scams me?

 I need help guys i know this is my second thread but I want to know if the seller is scam or not first the item was shipped from china even doe the seller is from Canada, second no tracking information as it was free shipping i have no clue what is happening to the item, I contact the seller before he closed his account about if he was fake and he says no, i ask him if the item is in a box or just bubble wrap and he said in a box. Please help me get some answer into this question so i could resolve my problem.

What is or was your Estimated Date of Delivery? Has it passed?

not yet but the seller just says he shiped it from china and after few day he quit ebay

Normally you can't file a claim through ebay until after the latest estimated delivery date. In this case you may be able to open a claim by phone because the seller is no longer a registered user.

Or, you can open a claim through Paypal now as they don't require that you wait until after the estimated delivery.
