Shipping liquids to the USA

I have a friend in the US who's a big Coke drinker. I've asked, and he's never tried Canadian Coke, so I wanted to send him a couple of cans.

What does the post office say about sending liquids in sealed containers?  Any caveats?

I personally wouldn't recommend doing so. Would definitely be easier to deliver in person. For mailing  you will be dealing with Canadapost, USPS. With  US customs in the middle. Reference material attached.

USPS:

Can you ship a can of soda?
You can ship soda and carbonated beverages with USPS, but it's not as simple as throwing them in a box and calling it a day. Containers with carbonated drinks (like soda cans or bottles) contain carbon dioxide. Therefore, they build pressure when you shake or move them around, and can potentially explode.Nov 12, 2020

As a side note it is also against the rules to mail live animals.  🙂 I'm afraid to imagine who has tried to!!

Live chick baby chickens. Farmers to chickens growers allowed by USP. Maybe UPS and FedEx Ground.

And BEES!

Canada Post will be handling many shipments of queens soon to make up for over wintered deaths and to improve stock.

A US seller answered a similar question lately and they said that usps recommended that packaging include any leaks that might happen so it seems to be ok on the US side.
