Will I get my selling fees back if I cancel a sale that a buyer asked me to cancel?

Hi I just had a Canadian buyer - who is also a seller ( I checked their account name) buy my item. They sent a message asking me to cancel saying they accidentally clicked on buy. They also sell some of the same things I sell. Lol.

I have not cancelled sales before because I wanted to make sure I get the unpaid item case open and receive my selling fees back.  I would think especially a seller (even if just starting out) would know better than to "accidentally click" and buy my item.

1.  So if I don't cancel will this person go and report me to ebay - will ebay force me to cancel the sale? Can the buyer then leave me negative feedback?

2. If I do cancel will I lose my ebay fees? I don't have an ebay store.

3. What reason would I chose ( I assume there is a list to click on) to cancel that ensures I receive my fees back?

Also I plan to block this person after or maybe even before the sale is cancelled or I get a non paid on it.

 4. Should I block them right away?

Thanks for any information and thanks for your time.

Re: Will I get my selling fees back if I cancel a sale that a buyer asked me to cancel?

If you cancel through the ebay cancellation option you will get your ebay fees back.  If the buyer has paid they will automatically get refunded but you won't get our Paypal fees back.  That will be the situation whether you cancel or file an unpaid item claim.

I always cancel if a buyer requests it and I haven't shipped yet.  If you open an unpaid item claim the can still pay and possibly end up filing an item not as described claim once they get the item since they didn't really want it.
