Hi all,
Sorry, I didn't go back to my email to get the link, but I just got the email that there's a 10c auction listing day tomorrow, starting at midnite tonight!
This appears to be by way of being an apology for the power outage a few days ago. Anyhow, it applies to all starting levels so if you have some higher priced items, it's a real bargain!
. Glenda
To Golf or Not To Golf? What a stupid question!

PS -- Here's the official email
To Our Community:
Last Thursday we held a 10-cent Fixed Price listing promotion…this week, to show our appreciation for eBay sellers, I'm happy to offer a one-day promotion on www.ebay.com and www.ebay.ca during which insertion fees for auction-style listings will be just 10 cents. I know this doesn't make up for the disruption the outage caused, but I wanted to thank you for your patience and support last week.
It starts at midnight tonight. For complete details, please click here [http://pages.ebay.com/promo/10centevent/?ssPageName=CMDV:AB1000] for the US and here [http://pages.ebay.ca/promo/10centevent/] for Canada.
Since last week I've gotten several offers to buy emergency generators – thanks everyone, but we're all set. :) Glenda

Just a warning to anyone that doesn't get the notification - it applies to "auction style" listings only and does not apply to "fixed price" listing.

The 10 cent listing day isn't in by way of appology or "our appreciation for sellers". This show of appreciation is purely an invented afterthought or fabrication. Every single discount listing day has invariably been in appreciation for a rapid decline in auction listings. See the auction count chart here: http://www.quotetracker.com/cgi-bin/cal.exe?EIND
Check out the days imediately preceding this weeks' discount. The days preceding last Thursday's charts showed a precipitous drop, too, but since have apparently been replaced by something unatural. I viewed these charts last Wednesday and they were dropping markedly - not at all resembling what's there now. A sharp drop has always historically immediately preceded every discount listing day (Notwithstanding the, now-dropped, free listing days surrounding the Christmas season) and this has been occurring far more frequently since the institution of January's rate gouges.
The auction charts, incidentally, have been showing frequent signs of compromise lately just like those now in place on May 10 & 11. Specifically on March 27th, April 6th to 11th, April 13th & 14th, May 10th & 11th. There have also been many other smaller possible compromises suggested by shorter straight-lined vectors. The movements on the dates mentioned are, without mistake, unatural. Is someone trying to control them? Who would benefit from this?
If Bill Cobb wanted to show his appreciation, or even minimal respect, for sellers he could start by not starting his missives with a gladhanded lie.

Come to think of it I've seen the charts now in place on May 10 and 11 before. These aberations have been cut and pasted from a previous date. Someone is really manipulating the auction counts. Something tells me that the media should be informed.
