5 star system, shipping charges and 15% off FVF

I would qualify for the 15% off except that my shipping and handling fees star is at 4.7 and know it needs to be at 4.8

How does one do that?

I charge actual shipping, no handling fee, and use the cheapest shipping method (small packet surface) and offer lots of shipping discounts that include free shipping for multiple purchases.

Am I really going to have to offer Free Shipping and eat the cost?

You'd think there would be some understanding for Canadian sellers having to meet U.S. buyers shipping expectations.

Wouldn't it make more sense to allow Canadians to have a slightly lower rating on the shipping stars to still take advantage of 15% FVF saving?

I usually ship within 24 hours of payment and my shipping time star hovers and dips around 4.8 too.

not me....im 4.5 for shipping handling time and charges....i ship the same day and lose 0.30 c on every item i ship.....

Probably not too many if they ship to the U.S.

Mine is 4.86 right now but that will probably change when purchasers find out that they can no longer receive negative feedback and start leaving negative without reason.

I ship within 24 hours, I use brand new boxes, bubble wrap and styrofoam and I don't charge for handling or packaging material. I charge only about 2/3 of actual shipping rate and I often drive down to USA to mail my items so that I can ship it even cheaper. I also take risks shipping $100-$200 items with Small Packet Air, just to keep the cost down.

So where am I loosing points?

Hey, I ship via UPS Ground...guaranteed delivery within North American in 6 days tops. I also pass along the 45% volume discount they give me which means I charge customers LESS than what it would cost to ship the same item via Canada Post ground.

On top of our ridiculous ship costs, Canada Post is SO SLOW how can we EVER get our Shipping Time DSR back up? Americans expect their items within 3 days!

You won't if you ship mainly to the U.S. so don't waste time trying

90% of my buyers are in the U.S.

Do the higher ups at .ca take this into account at all?

that probably why sellers in the US ended up with higher fvf...........to make up for the fact they'll be getting the 15% off!!!!

Don't they always favour the U.S. sellers anyway? If our shipping takes longer they will get better DSR's and will show up better in the searches and eBay won't have to give us the discount.

My DSR's for shipping cost and time are presently at 4.8. They were at 4.9 and 4.8 before December but I think at that time the bidders expected me to deliver the stuff in person because they waited until the last minute to Christmas shop.

I also send small & light packet and I do charge extra for packaging which I mention in my listings. I ship the same or the next day in most cases. I contact the buyer when the item is shipped and I answer questions right away....I am always on eBay. There is nothing more I can do to give better service. I do not think it is right that we should be rated on a third party's shipping charges and delivery times. And I do not think that they should use those ratings to determine whether or not sellers qualify for a discount.
