This is not the first time this has happen to me. If I commit to buy an item, the auction ends and I am the winner, is the seller not committed to complete the transaction? It is a legal contract to buy if I win.

Hi p_barrette.. Yes it is a contract but Ebay cannot force a seller to sell to you.
However , as with non paying buyers there can be consequences.
In today's eBay world of performance standards , what gets their attention and sellers, is poor feedback and low DSRs, 1,2.
What pushes my buttons is a seller's attitude. I am always willing to accept a mistake and an apology for the inconvenience but can react to arrogance.

Don't forget the seller maybe a bigot.
E-mail them and see if they use the term "victim" "your kind",
that will send up red flags. I've had bigoted POWER sellers openly state "we wont sell to your kind" your kind is a waste of skin, etc..
eBay did nothing

I'm afraid that you are probably out of luck...ebay usually sides with the seller in such disputes..another thing that sellers do is send a completely different item than what you purchased..that has happened to me and ebay deems that the seller has fulfilled the contract agreement....it truly is "buyer beware"
