Buyer said he will not pay, now what?

Buyer took the buy it now option then I sent him an invoice adding the shipping cost that he did not enquire about.  The shipping cost was appropriate.

Now he sends me a note that he is not going to pay.

How do I handle this?

Thanks,

Bob

This is where you go :

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/buy/resolving-problems.html

Now, if the buyer is American and your listing indicates you ship to the USA but you did not provide a shipping cost to the USA, you may want to reconsider the way you list your items.

"The shipping cost was appropriate" is NOT an appropriate answer. Your listing shoud show exactly what the shipping cost will be.  There is no need for buyer to inquire before buying, certainly not when most of your competitors provide the information.

The USA has a media rate. It is quite cheap, apparently, but very slow. Due to no shipping in the listing, buyer not knowing, they simply assumed the rate would be similar. Your "appropriate" amount was probably several times what they expected.

Put all shipping costs in your listing or this will happen over and over.

Why buyers in some countries and states that I ship to are not able to see the shipping cost in my listings? For example, I keep receiving messages from New Zealand, Arab Emirates, Puerto Rico, Guam etc. Buyers in those areas are able to see my items but cannot see shipping rate.

You have set up international shipping incorrectly. From listing 221243082019 I can see that you are using International Parcel Air when I put in Australia for a country. For other countries I get contact the seller.

International Parcel Air is not offered to all countries, only a few. Some countries will have Xpresspost International instead of International Parcel Air. Some will have neither and only have International Parcel Surface.

If you chose International Parcel Air as your only International option, then the countries that do not have that service available will show the contact seller message.

So to fix these listings you will have to Offer Xpresspost International, International Parcel Air and International Parcel Surface and one of these services will show in the listing. Surface is usually a poor option to select since delivery times are so long.

You may want to adjust you blocked countries and exclude countries that you cannot ship Air to. Your choice.

I see that you are using Small Packets International Air and USA for other listings and that is working correctly.

Here is a link to a Canada Post web page that shows you which services are offered to each country. It is for the most part accurate in my opinion. Please notice that the Insurance amount varies for different countries as well.

Re: Buyer said he will not pay, now what?

Thanks a lot for trying to help me resolve this but I don't think it matters which serive you indicate. Can you please have a look at 221223384761? It offeres Small Packets Air and again if you are, let's say, in New Zealand you cannot see the shipping rate. Small Packet Air is available to any country. I do have a list of countries where I do not ship at all and would prefer to keep it as it is.

Re: Buyer said he will not pay, now what?

Well, apparently eBay does not recognize the existentence of New Zealand. So you cannot give specific costs for that specific country.

However, with a population slightly smaller than Toronto, the question will not often arise. In the same way, I usually advise sellers not to choose "North and South America" as a destination since that will overide the USA option.  Those customers will have to contact you for a shipping quote.

You can't be perfect. Just try to cover your largest markets and answer other queries promptly.
