Can I get some help re. raising DSR for ship time?

OK,

Today Xena's smug little bubble burst and her DSR for ship time dropped to 4.7, snivel LOL!

It was the FB from Italy that did it (7 weeks in transit) but it also demonstrated that I was teetering on the brink anyhow.

I always ship within 24 hours of receiving payment and send out a ship confirmation and request to leave FB when the package arrives.

I will be re-writing that mail to reflect a ship time clarification.

Could I get some input as to text? Your ideas, together with my thoughts will form part of my new confirmation email.

I am looking for ideas that make sense to the buyer without sounding condescending. Sine the DSR's will be a rolling 30-day window in the future, I believe that it can make a difference if we can "educate" the buyer".

A NOTE TO FEEDBACK:
eBay has implemented a 5-Star rating system. When rating me for “shipping time”, please keep in mind that this refers to how quickly the seller ships after receiving payment (I ship within 24 hours) and NOT how long the package takes to arrive to you, as the seller has absolutely no control over Canada Post’s delivery times.

Don't laugh, but it actually does.

Not as much as money! I came here for the money not the ego stroke. Sure it's nice when strangers say you done good but it's the money that puts the "good" stuff in the kitty bowl.

Further to my post # 13 I will be including a half page in all my shipments from now on. I figure that, by the time the package arrives, not everyone will remember my shipping email.

When they open the package, there will be a reminder to leave FB, at the same time letting them know how much I appreciate their business. The time to leave FB will be "now", when there is still excitement.

Good!! Bill was nice enough to ask permission while I just went ahead and tried it out last night after shipping out a bunch of packages. I changed it a little to put it in my own words but it was basically the same. I had 3 people email me after I sent it saying they will be happy to leave feedback and /or let me know when it arrives!! Good sign!

I had always sent something along those lines with my shipping confirmation, except that now I include a note re the 5-star thing. I get many replies back afterwards.

This is an example of the letter that I send to my buyers as soon as my packages are on the way to the post office each day. Before this e-mail goes out, I LEAVE feedback for my buyers based soley on their payment ability and nothing more. Therefore...no tit for tat involved and my buyers are quite happy about it. Susan

I used to work at head office for "Canada's largest retailer". While Canadian Tire money is a joke to most of us it shocked me to find that it was transported between stores and home office in an armored vehicle. The stuff is more valuable than many of us realize. 😉

Hello All I have just read the post and am adding my two bits, but first does anyone know where I can email a pink on this subject I am so frusterated I sold on the 16th and shipped on the 17th to the US small packet and the feedback is as follows: great molds although shipping took a while shipping took a while, but great molds The shipping took a little while, but great molds I can not win my shipping star decreased a great deal today This is totally not fair to Canadian sellers even with all the emails to buyers when shipped we are still being hit with slow shipping I myself like many others here try our best and shipped most often the next day I know I will never meet the guidelines for discount when the bar is set the same for us as it is for the US in regards to shipping any help with a pinks email would be great Pat Straw11
