Confused

I sold an item to a buyer & she paid right away, she tried to buy another item yesterday & ebay said she could not purchase this item from this buyer!!! This is ebays message to this buyer ( ebay buyer requirement. Sorry you are not allowed to purchase this item. This item is only available to buyers who have not purchased 1 or more items from this seller in the past 10 days ) The lady went on to buy the same thing from someone else. How long has this been going on in my account & how many sales have I lost because this requirement?? What kind of  is this. Can anybody shine some light on this. Thanks.. PS The person who tried to buy has 20 feed back & a fast payer.

This is because you have set your Buyer Requirements this way. You need to go into your Account>Buyer Requirements and set them for the amount you will allow to be purchased and the no. of days. Until you make these changes you will not be able to sell more than 1 in the past 10 days to a single buyer. Just put in whatever you feel comfortable with.

It sounds as if this may be an oversight on your part in setting up your seller preferences.

Go to your seller "Summary" page (under "My eBay").  Click on the "Account" tab that's located just above your listings, with the other seller tabs (near the top left of the screen).  Choose "Site Preferences".  At that screen, scroll down until you see "Buyer Requirements" -- you'll need to go to the far right and click on "Show" to see the full menu.  Choose "Edit".

Once you're in the editing screen for buyer requirements, check the 2nd last item -- you will see it says "Block buyers who purchase more than ____ items from me within ____ days ... and have ____ feedback points.

Set these values to whatever you wish by choosing the number you want from each of the three multiple choice drop-down boxes.  I suspect you'll find your setting is currently set at "no more than 1 item within 10 days.  If you set it higher (say, 10 items in 10 days from buyers with less than 5 FB points), that's more likely to filter out buyers who are trying to scam.

While you're at that screen, you may want to double-check your other buyer requirements and make sure you're happy with them.

Go to: Site Preference -> Buyer requirements -> Block buyers who: ... are currently winning or have bought  1 of my items in the last 10 days.

Increase the number and/or and check off "Only apply this block to buyers who have a feedback score of 5 or lower."

Btw. just posted this and see rose-dee's post. I must have had this open for some time. Sorry.

Thanks everybody for helping me with this problem. I didn't know you had to put a check in the box. I always left it blank. I will check my other site as well. THANK YOU

The whole thing doesn't make any sense my other site is not checked off either. In the boxes were 10 items & 5 feedback yet I didn't have either box checked off ???

Just my guess, but those may be the eBay system defaults that stand until you actually make your own selection.

Arghhh so now I'm confused. If I go to the screen it says "Block Buyers Who" with the current state "None". This is how I want it, so far I have no buyer restrictions and I have not gone in and ticked any of the boxes. The "None" would lead me to believe I have no restrictions right???

I would imagine so, but this sounds like an excellent question for the "Pinks". Woman Happy
