As some of you may know, my father was a farrier (a blacksmith who shod horses). His favourite horse was the Clyde, the gentle giants....and they are. I remember the day we went to a horse auction and a Clyde got away, headed full tilt out to a field, people diving to get out of the way. Happy to be free from the barn no one could catch him and many were afraid to try (a Clyde weighs about a ton). But I watched my dad stand about 20 feet from the horse, talk to it, and the horse just walked over to him.

And although that's just a commercial, believe me a horse......remembers people.
