You're changes have really been a huge negative for me and my son who have used ebay to list hockey cards - and sold tons of cards with GREAT feedback.
We have (had) approximately 400 card listings created and would rotate them using our free listings and the promotions. We did this to avoid losing all his work if not relisted after 60 days. At any time we would have about 200 up - always selling some and always then adding new cards.
With your change to 20 free listings (plus 20 for collectibles) AND the fact we have had NO promotions for over two months (after getting them at least once or twice a month) he has now lost a ton of his listings and all the work that went into them. Enough to stop using ebay altogether.
Please don't suggest ebay store. There are terms and conditions there that make it not an option.

"Please don't suggest ebay store. There are terms and conditions there that make it not an option.'
Please allow me.
As a very experienced seller having had a quick look at your recent listings (less than 200 completed listings in the last three months) an eBay store is the answer for you.
"Terms and conditions" It only costs you $20 a month (monthly commitment)

Just so you know, this is a member to member board so ebay is unlikely to read your post or reply to it.
As mentioned, there are really no extra terms or conditions if you go month to month with a store other than the type of listings that
you get for free.
Sports mem, cards & fan shop is considered a collectibles category so you can list 20 fixed price or auctions listings/month AND 20 auctions
You can list the same amount on .com too so you would have a total of 80 on both sites.
With a store you could list 150 fixed price plus 100 auctions on each site - $20/month for 500 listings

If you have a windows computer, then consider download free eBay Turbo Lister. It installs on you hard drive and can save your listings indefinitely. eBay keeps completed listings for 90 days after they end (Sold or UnSold). TL can import listings for the full 90 days into inventory.
This way you can save your listings and get them ready for a promo while you work the 20+20 you have for a non-store on each eBay site.

I was staring at a $350 bill, coming up, a week ago. after this adjustment, that credit, "Who's a good boy" discount, my bill was $277.
My premium store is paid for and they give me money back. eBay pays me to list.
I like those "terms & conditions".

Finally, someone has told me why TurboLister is worth using. It saves your listings and pictures indefinitely. I already knew that it allowed the seller to set the time at which the listing started free instead of for the 10cent fee eBay charges.
Unfortunately, as a Mac user this is not available to me.

Turbo Lister does not have free scheduling. You can schedule a listing in Turbo Lister, then uploaded to eBay along with other listings that are not scheduled and it is transferred to the online schedule listing system. When the scheduled time arrives, the listing is started.
Whether the scheduled listing is charged a fee depends on the sellers store status. Non-store sellers get free scheduling so there would be no charge. Store users would pay the 10 cent scheduling fee.

Agree with the op, $20 a month for a store would make no sense based on sales from april on. If you get offered a free month or the recent 5.95 a month for 4 months it would make sense to use one for that time. I suspect there will be more promos. Reducing the free listings to 20 killed the low price sellers. You could work at moving some to .com to get the 20 free ones there

Just a little help in the "Mac User" category.
With very little effort or cost (even free if you want to go that route ahem. not that I suggest that or condone it) you can run any PC software you would like on your Mac. Any recent Mac or even any one made since they started using Intel chips can run Windows fairly easily under emulation and you can then run Turbo Lister to your heart's content.
As a former Mac "Evangelist" and techie I have set many people up so that they could run many different software programs that were/are unavailable to Apple computer users. The PC emulated end of things is also isolated on your Mac on a "virtual" partition so you needn't fear virus infestation etc as, if that was to happen, it can't cross to your Mac and you simply delete the emulated partition and start fresh from a back-up.
Basically, there is no longer any reason for any Mac user to say that something from the Windows world is "Not Available for Mac"
Something to look into anyway that might make life easier for you.
Cheers,
thD

No - today's promo does not make me happy because......
It is for NEW listings only........so doesn't help my son relist current listings he's about to lose and......
although there is a way around it. Pull up existing listings and do SELL SIMILAR and the system thinks it's a NEW listing ..... BUT
It is for FIXED PRICE ONLY.......so what if you had current listings you are about to lose because it's been 60 days. Even if you hit SELL SIMILAR you have to go and revise each and every one to Fixed Price.....and then if the next promotion is for AUction you have to revise them back.
The mere fact they have these promotions tells me they can survive on the fees they charge WHEN WE SELL items. To give promotions and then put terms ....new listings only, fixed price only is really frustrating.

The problem quite frankly with the ebay store is the terms regarding the type of listings.......so many fixed price and so many auction style listings per month. I think its 150 of one and 100 of the other.
It would force us to have to go in and revise listings from one to the other depending on how many you have available - and then perhaps have to revise each and every one back.
We totally prefer auction style........why not give us the choice of whether we do auction or fixed? Don't they think we know best what is working for our particular circumstance?

That is a great suggestion ......turbo lister will try it Thanks

Use Bulk Edit in My eBay or Selling Manager and the change from Auction to Fixed Price or Fixed Price to Auction takes a few minutes. Switching formats is not an issue for most sellers.
A seller has to work a little to use the free listings. Better than paying insertion fees.

The last 3 free listing promos I have had were all for 30 day fixed price= eBay does not seem to be offering auction format free listing promos much these days, so one might consider storing listings in the 30 day fixed price format.
It also may be noted that if you go to your Seller Account - to invoices, you can acquire the eBay listing numbers, copy & paste the numbers into the Advanced Search method and find your listings that way. Listings can be searched & found for the previous 90 days using this method.

If you use 30 days, rather than Good Til Cancelled, on your Fixed Price listings then when the listing runs out, you can leave it in your Unsolds.
And if you use Auction /7 days, and then Sell Similar if you still have freebies when the week is up, and then leave it in your Unsolds.
Identical listings except for the sale type, eh?
When the next promo comes around, you can click on FP or Auction only and list those Unsold lots as Sell Similar depending on the promo.
Or you can just say, well if it ain't listed it ain't gonna sell, open a Store and leave everything up for grabs 27/7/365 on FP/GTC.
How much is your time worth?
Thanks Treasure for the advice about the PC interface. But no one has yet convinced me that Turbo Lister is useful (except for keeping unsolds in permanent limbo, which I don't need, because I keep all my stock open and for sale) and for anything else I have Open Office.
