Hi, are there any Karl Ens porcelain experts around?

I have an unusual piece of Karl Ens porcelain and cannot find anything like it else where and cannot for the life of me even begin to price it.  It has the blue Ens stamp X and Volkstaed marked on the under side of the pedestal.  Anyone have any idea about this guy?

There are some similar items currently for sale on ebay, prices around the $200-$240 USD range.

I am not a Karl Ens expert, but if you were to ask on the US Boards, someone on the Collectibles and Art board might know something about this piece, or be able to point you in the right direction.
