I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

Due to the nature of my job, I can't be phoning eBay or receiving calls from them .

Why can't I contact you by email? The Twitter team just referred me to the Help Center on the UK site and I'm in Canada.

I also noticed that this item has completely vanished from my purchase history. I have taken a screen shot of my feedback for the seller that includes the item number.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

Feedback does not affect the seller's account. Many sellers have not caught on to this recent change.

Feedback is voluntary and should reflect the buyer's experience.

What is the seller promising you if you do change the feedback?

What do you intend to do when he doesn't keep his promise.

Because he won't.

I  also noticed that this item has completely vanished from my purchase history.

Is the seller now NARU (Not A Registered User)? That means he has been kicked off eBay.

Did you receive your item?

Was it as described?

If not, you can Dispute your payment through Paypal even though eBay has removed the purchase.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

From the ebay help pages: ~ perhaps there is a glitch where you cannot see it right now but ....

Here's what we found for "Finding items you bought or sold"

In My eBay, you can see all of the purchases you've made in the last 3 years, and all of your listings that ended in the last 60 days. It may take up to 24 hours for a newly created listing to appear, or be searchable on the site.

Finding items you bought
  • In your Purchase history, you can choose to see hidden or unhidden items. Select See orders from to see items bought within a specific time period.
  • Under Summary > Buy, select Deleted to see if the item has been deleted.
  • If you bought the item as a guest, check the guest order confirmation email to view your order details.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

The seller isn't promising anything, and I certainly hope they can't change MY feedback, because I paid promptly.

When the item was a week late, I logged a complaint; it was something I needed to complete an item for a competition. The seller dragged out the resolution process and the item finally arrived, two days short of 3 weeks past the promised date. I gave the seller neutral feedback.

They are emailing me EVERY day to change it!

But they have over 2000 positive interactions, 60 neutral and even fewer negative, over the past year,.

I don't understand their problem; I, however, missed my submission deadline and I'm not happy about it.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

Can you look at the package and determine which date it was shipped on?

It's very possible that the seller(s) shipped within the time frame promised in their listings and that the package arrived late due to slow transit time.

If you're penalizing sellers for slow transit time that's very unfair.

If, on the other hand, the seller shipped later than promised perhaps your NFB is warranted.

It's very important to sellers that you don't trash their ratings because of slow transit time when they actually shipped very quickly.

The package details are conveniently now missing from my purchase history.  😞

When you buy good cheap items from China they can take up to 3 months to arrive.  As the other poster said, if you are blaming the seller for that it is really unfair.

The package is not "conveniently" missing, it is just in the Hidden Items.  Sellers get items in the mail almost immediately.  It is rare for them not to, but a $6 item with Free Shipping coming from China means slow Surface on-a-boat mail.

You will have to tell the seller that it is too late now to revise the feedback because it has been more than 60 days since you bought it.  It would be nice if you apologized for your impatience.  Look again in your Purchase History, this time the HIDDEN files:

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

OK so to go back to your original problem or question then ... you say you cannot call ebay for a complaint, you need to do it by email as you are at work ... I think from what I can see on the Help & Contact pages, if you follow all of the links for any type of problem or question.... your only option is (to complain by) phone. I do not think there is an option to contact ebay by email for problems with a transaction or with a Seller.  You could "report" the Seller for contacting you every day to ask for a feedback revision but you'll have to do it by phone.

Customer Service Reps work late hours, not only business hours, to accommodate buyers and sellers in multiple worldwide timezones. For a problem of this type I'm seeing Contact Us hours Monday to Sunday 5:00 am to 10:00 pm PT.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

This is interesting.  The following blurb appeared in the Gov't Study that mj was recently a part of:

""" A lot of this product comes from Asia, and because of the international postage regulations for third world countries, Canada Post receives little to no revenue for this product. Because of this, major plants across Canada stockpile this product for weeks until they have the resources to work it, causing delays in service.""""

So, if anyone's still wondering why shipments from China take so long, there it is.  It's probably not the seller's fault.

What about the packaging itself? The postmark should give the date it was processed, although it can be blurry if the seller used postage stamps which were hand cancelled.

And some sellers leave feedback on shipment. Not very reliable, but an indication of when it was probably shipped.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

Then perhaps the seller shouldn't be promising delivery in 3 weeks? Just a thought... Most Asian sellers have longer wait times posted. This seller happened to have the size and colour I required for my project.

I have received items in 2 weeks from China, 6 days from England, 10 days from Australia and sometimes 3 weeks from the United States. There is no rhyme or reason to it at times.

The seller is now sending me emails every 6 hours... I'm wonder if those other 62 people who left neutral feedback got similar treatment.

I will contact eBay by phone when I get home tonight.

Thank you everyone for your assistance.

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

Are you looking at the correct view in your purchase history? Try  changing no it to the 2016 view,  your feedback mentions the seller offered resolutions. If they refunded you, thst could be why you don't see it.

IF I am looking at the right item, you made the purchase on sept 12...does that sound right?  The listing estimates 12- 36 business days delivery time which would be approximately sept 28- nov 3. I don't see any recent revisions to the est delivery time. Is it possible that you are only thinking about the first date?

Regardless of all of that the seller shouldn't be hassling you for a revision but the best way to silence them is to ignore them.  I don't know if they sent you a feedback revision request but that is the only way you could revise it and they only have 30 days after you left feedback to send you one,.

As others mentioned if you want to to report them, you will have to phone eBay.  There is a toll free number and they are open fairly lng hours.

No, that's the one I had refunded that never arrived.

I'm clicking on the call us button over and over and all it does it keep putting me back to the help page.

I just got two more emails from the seller.

When that happens, you need to pick a slightly different reason until it doesn't.

I want to thank everyone for their help; I kept clicking as suggested above until I got a phone number to call and the customer service department is going to tell the seller to stop badgering me.  They were very kind; as y'all have been.

Thank you!

Re: I am being pressured by a seller to change my feedback

Are you sure that it was the seller that promised you delivery in 3 weeks or was it ebay?  Ebay puts a date down and the seller has no control over that date.

I had a discussion with a buyer, not mine, who was going to give the seller a negative because he didn't receive the item on the date that ebay said he would.  As long as the seller gets it in the mail within their handling time, they have done their part.  Now the PO that's another story.  Sometimes I could walk there faster than when they delivered it.

Why should the seller be blamed for the PO delays or the ridiculous date that ebay provided the buyer.
