My customers can't buy Multiple items using the Shopping cart in Ebay.ca ????????

OK... lost a 15 items  sale last week because my buyer could not add to shopping cart... and do the check out.   I'm a Canadian seller and customer is a Canadian buyer.  Tonight had same problem with a US buyer interested in 3 items which I had to get him to email me back the ID number so I could delete the postage so we could combine shipping but he still needs to purchase each item separately... hassle for customer.  Not good for sales... Does ebay know what 's goind on ???   Any thoughts or help on this .  Thanks.

Does ebay know what 's goind on ???

Apparently they do and while they say they are working on it the only actions taken thus far have made the situation worse.

Canada is not important to eBay. We are not even a country to them. We are an "associated market". At one time there were buildings full of employees with real offices in Vancouver and Toronto. We are down to about 6 employees, a water cooler, and a stapler.

You will be far better served to change the way you list than to wait for eBay to change their ways.

"and a stapler."

???

Everything is paperless now.... they no longer needed that stapler! It is gone.

They let the stapler go? Oh, the humanity!

Read everything in this thread: http://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Problems-with-combined-shipping-Looking-for-advise/m-p/29...

This is only one of many discussions on this subject.  Go to the main "Discussion Boards" page, look for the Wednesday Board Hour link and when it opens, type in "cart disconnect" in the search box.  You'll find a whole lot of discussion there.

EBay is well aware of this problem, they caused it, but now they can't seem to (or won't) fix it.  Still, I would encourage you to mention your experience tomorrow at the Wed. open board session with the .ca staffers.  You'll get their pat answers, but at least they'll know there are more than 2 or 3 of us who are concerned.

They seem to believe this problem is a very rare occurrence and that it affects only U.S. buyers attempting to purchase from Canadian sellers using the U.S. cart.  They say the Canadian cart works perfectly if a buyer is logged onto eBay.ca, but frankly that hasn't been my experience.

For what it's worth, I think more voices from Canadian sellers on this problem directed to the eBay Canada staff may at least demonstrate the problem is more serious and widespread than they claim.  Our only hope is that they be moved to advocate more strenuously on our behalf.

So far, the eBay.ca staffer (Raphael) has said the "workarounds" are for Canadian sellers to either list on .com, or to offer all their items with free shipping to everywhere (Canada and international). I'm personally appalled that this is what it's come down to for Canadian eBay sellers to be able to ensure their buyers can check out easily.

My own temporary solution has been to put a big notice up on my main store page directing U.S. buyers to log onto eBay.ca to use our cart to checkout -- however, it appears there are even issues with the .ca cart, so who knows?  It's a mess.

My point is that buyers who encounter these checkout problems even once may say: "What the heck, why deal with this hassle, I'll go to Amazon" (or wherever).  EBay is shooting itself in the foot by not solving this issue.

Well, actually, they're shooting Canadian sellers in the foot -- as Mr. E. says, we're small potatoes to eBay HQ. Maybe eBay.com is just quietly trying to get rid of all those pesky Canadian sellers who compete with the U.S. (oh-oh, watch out, conspiracy alert!Woman LOL)   I have to laugh or I'd be crying all day.

Whoops, I guess I'm really out of sync this week -- tomorrow is Tuesday, right???  Sorry, it's the Wednesday Board Hour.
