I don't like it X-(

Feedback is important but why make it more complicated?

FB for shipping charges? Exactly! eBay wants us to incorporate the cost of shipping in asking price to charge us more for final value fee....

I don't like it X-(

It is example for you:
Hello, Adam. Sorry, for Canada post. I will never offer anybody more this kind of service(expedited parcel, it will be just express which cost $10 more but it is work better).
Sorry, for it. Vitali

That's okay, I knew it would take a little longer. As long as it gets here eventually, it's not a problem.

New FEEDBACK system... what do you think?

Hi guys,

So feedback 2.0 is not what you'd like it to be...personally I get a giggle to myself when I see that my lowest rating is on shipping charges when the reality is I charge basically what I pay and that my prices are lower than all my competitors who ship from the US!!

But guys and gals it seems a lot of you are not seeing the bigger picture. All of you that think ebay is working to hurt sellers are not getting it. Despite ebay's strength in the online auction marketplace, the reality is there is still way more people who don't shop ebay or online than there are that do. There is still a lot of people who don't feel comfortable with the whole idea because some of the horror stories of the past still linger. What our company sees is ebay continually trying to make their site more buyer friendly and a more safe place to buy stuff. These efforts are bringing more and more new customers to the site, and more potential customers means better business opportunity for us sellers. This new feedback system is part of those efforts. The system gives those of us that do a good job overall an opportunity to stand out from the crowd. At the same time it will weed out the crappy sellers who's poor efforts hurt all of us, even if they only tick off one person towards ebay, because that one person might tell 10 people about their experience and so on.

I check out these boards very seldom because I am too busy working my business. But all the times I've checked it over the last several years it always seems some sellers are ticked about something concerning feedback. In the past I'd always laugh when I saw a seller going off about how one or two negatives ruined their business and/or reputation and how because of that their business has died etc etc. That was BS then, and it is now...If you've got items people want, 4 plus stars showing and a 98%+ overall rating showing then you've got nothing at all to worry about.

Mtlmaps you're overreacting to this...your feedback is 100% and people will still buy from you the same as always so stop stressing yourself. And when you get your first negative, which you will get eventually if you're in this for the long-term, don't lose a second of sleep over it because you're doing an overall fantastic job and it won't hurt your pocket one bit. When a clueless Canadian customer bitches about shipping charges simply respond politely and explain that it's Canada post, not you, who is charging more within Canada than to the US. If they still don't get it and they make a low score in that particular category...who cares...in the long term if you continue to do the excellent job you are doing now then the numbers will work in your favour and you'll stand out. Dude, save your energy for building your business cuz that's where your energy belongs.

C'mon guys and gals!!...Think positive!!...More and more people around the world are making ebay shopping part of their lives because almost no one is getting burned anymore. That's good for all of us...more customers means more sales, more bidding wars and all that good stuff. And with that ebay understands that our increased sales/profits will get them their increased fees. They win by helping us win. Our company is tickled pink that ebay is working hard to get more and more people here, that's their job, let them do it. And we'll take care of our job. There is great opportunity here, don't miss it cuz you're blind from sweating the small stuff!!

Sorry, but very disagree with it!!! Why, because what really just kill sale on North American eBay it is cancellation "Buyer Protection Programme" offer by eBay. This programme is still working around the world!!!

Buyers have plenty of protection with paypal.

In anycase, I often wonder why all the ebay haters that post stick around. If ebay is so awful and bad to them they can always just leave. No one is holding them here at gunpoint.

I've owned several conventional businesses and I tell you I wouldn't want to go back there. I suspect a lot of the people who aren't happy with ebay haven't been in conventional business before. The best thing for them would be to go and open a retail store and try and depend on that for their livelyhood. After they lost their shirts (and minds probably), I'm sure they'd come running back with a much greater affection for ebay;-)

I hired a Manager for my business a few years ago, and he was fresh out of University with a Business degree specializing in Accounting. About a year later he said to me, "Andrew, I can't believe how many fees and taxes you have to pay here as a small business. If someone told me this in school, I never would have believed it. Between business tax, property tax, corpoate tax, various licences in relation to the business, workers compensation, insurance, payroll tax, water tax.... Its amazing how any small business can survive!".....
All these fees and taxes mentioned are virtually unexistent on ebay except for a few small various fees and possibly some income tax.
I'm in ebay as a hobby to generate some extra cash, so where I stand, am quite happy here!

I love EBAY!

I love eBay too... I stay at home with my kids and make pretty good money (more than when I was working)

But I still don't like the new feedback system... X-(
I just can't understand why I have to receive feedback for Canada Post or USPS... I ship everyday but this is still not good enough 😞 I don't overcharge on shipping but this is not good either... I should offer free shipping and pay more fees... X-( X-( X-(

New FEEDBACK system... what do you think?

I received an email from my daughter the other day addressed to eBay addict (errr! Mom). I think that says it all when is comes to whether or not I like eBay.
We have done craft shows and events and rented space in many different stores over the past 15 years. Every store in which I rented space eventually went out of business except for one. I have been asked many times why I don't open a brick and mortar store. That is the reason: the stores closed but I am still in business.
Craft shows are up and down. We generally do very well but it is a lot of work. With eBay I don't have to get up at 5:00 a.m., rush through a 2 hour set-up, stand all day, take it all down and take most of it home again. I have no expenses for gas, meals or overnight accommodations.
The items I sell so far are small, quick and easy to pack and inexpensive to mail. Yeah, I love eBay!

I don't like the star system. I have been able to keep my rating high so far because light packet usually arrives quickly. I think it is totally unfair to those sending heavier packages that always take longer and cost so much to send. They should set up a feedback system to rate Canada Post and send it to them!

After having a blocked bidder have a friend create an account just to leave me bad feedback and giving eBay the email proving it, and having them not remove it, this new system is just like salt in the wound..........thankfully those stars weren't around then. It seems sellers aren't worth anything to eBay these days.

And the haters are back...:-)

Have a look at some of the mega-sellers on ebay.com...they get sometimes 100+ negatives a month...but at the same time thousands of positives. Check into them further and you'll see that several don't even reply to feedback, because I'm betting they don't even check...they are too busy counting their money. I am 100% positive that they don't stress a second over their feedback. There is a big lesson to be learned there. Once again, if you have items people want and you do a good job, you will be fine. Not saying you should neglect your feedback, but I think most people way overstress about it.

That it is true, but what you write is just for dummies on eBay( you have to write new book together with Bill)!!!:^O:^O:^O

That's fine and dandy...but how do you explain including a rating such a shipping time, where the seller has literally, NO CONTROL....helping the sellers??

It does not reflect the feedback comments of buyers. They say wow fast shipping, product as described etc in many FB comments but the rating keeps dropping.

The new systems is a farce and allows buyer to leave 4 possible negatives even after a postive.

When can we rate them for if they pay on time, if they communicated properly, if we had to send the item through a UPI before getting payment and if it was a good transaction when dealing with the customer.

I can hardly waiting for the email that says I will give you a bad feedback rating and mess with your Detailed Seller Ratings "if you dont give me what I want".

It has become more of a BUYER BUYER BUYER pampering for the world biggest garage sale.

They should change the name for the site to ebay's bargain basement, buyers perferred, bankruptcy by design, or scammer apply here.

It's funny how eBay caters to the buyers when it is we, the sellers they actually make money from.
