I got the message and activated the sale.
I notice that the promotion is visible in my eBay.ca Selling Manager. It is not visible in my eBay.com selling manager.
I usually list on eBay.com (and the promotion says that eBay.com is included).
Any idea why it does not say I have 2500 free listings for eBay.com?
I assume I can still list there, just wondering why Selling Manager does not show it.
Anyone else notice this?

The promotion is available to any seller with a store who qualifies (meets eBay's minimum seller performance standards), and I presume this is an eBay.ca promotion only. Accordingly, I question whether it would apply to a new store opened by a very new seller (i.e. someone without an established performance record).
However, the promotion does include listings posted to the eBay.com site, among others. And -- for once -- they've given us more than just a few days -- up until March 31st!
The promotion is stated as a maximum of 2500 listings across the permitted platforms (so not 2500 on .ca, plus, plus, plus). By the way, it does include 30-day fixed price listings, but as usual you will still have to pay for listing upgrades. It's a good idea to read the Summary of Restrictions & Exclusions carefully before you start:

Oh yes, and don't forget -- you do have to hit the "Activate" button for the promotion to apply to your store. I just did so, and noticed that the promotion is now shown on my seller Summary page.
Also -- pay attention to the different start and end times, depending on where you list:
This Promotion will begin on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 00:00:01 ET (12:00AM plus one second), and will end on Monday, March 31, 2014, at 23:59:59 ET (11:59PM plus 59 seconds), for listings on www.ebay.ca. For listings on www.ebay.com, the Promotion will begin on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 00:00:01 PT (12:00AM plus one second), and will end on Monday, March 31, 2014, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59PM plus 59 seconds) (the “Promotion Period”).

That's normal. As soon as you post an item on .com, you'll see the promotion on selling manager.

It is a maximum of 2500 on each of the platforms.

I don't understand that at all...it's silly. It's even sillier the way they word the promotion in regards to 10 day listings.

No extra fee for 10 day Fixed Price it's only Auction listings that have the extra fee.
BIN is really the only extra fee thing that is sometimes offered with the listing promos.

Thanks for posting this info. I haven't received the email but did find it in my SMP and it is now activated.

Oops...I guess I as the silly one as I didn't read that properly and thought the charge was for 10 day FP as well.

Thanks for the info. I will try a listing on eBay.com and see what happens.

I guess this means that those of us without a store shouldn't expect to see a listing promotion during March?
I notice that the cost of a basic store is $19.95, so it really isn't worth my while because I usually only have around 100 listings at any given time, and many of those are 30-day fixed price.

I think it is about time ebay give it's store owners a little something extra because at the end of the day were the ones always paying fees and for people like me who have to use GTC I never benefit from any of the buy now promos ... With all the past comments on past threads it is nice to see ebay giving the store owners a little something ..
03-06-2014 08:54 PM
Of course .... I'm aware that store owners have not received nearly as many promotions as non-subscribers. I was just making an observation that it isn't likely we'll be offered one this month with the store promotion going on, so we'll have to plan accordingly.
03-06-2014 10:48 PM
Your probably right but with all the promos lately I would not doubt it if they have another one before the month is up...

'pj' -- I'm just wondering how you know for sure. The way I read it is that it's up to 2500 free listings on one platform or the other, i.e. this, that or ... (see the first paragraph of the Conditions).
I took the phrase "up to" to mean a maximum/total available: "During the Promotion Period, there will be no insertion fee per item listed for up to 2500 listings in the auction-style or fixed price format."
It's not really an important point for me, because I'd never be able to take advantage of 2500 listings, but it might be important for other sellers to know for certain.

The wording is always similar to that and we always have had the maximum amount of listings on each site.
Also, since I have listed on both sites since the promotion started, my selling manager page is showing me that I have that many listings available on each site. I currently have 2496 listings available on .com and 2498 available on .ca and not a chance in heck that I will be able to list even close to that amount.
