Pay Pal shipping is down.  So that's nice, what do we tell our customers expecting next day shipping?

One issue where the "shipping is not available" is when the address field is too long on international shipments.  Is the address or city or state/province longer than 25 characters? PayPal shipping seems to hiccup on long fields sometimes.

IT has also happened to me for address in Quebec where the city name is long like Sainte something de something exceeds 25-30 characters.

Try shortening the name to 22-23 characters if this is the potential cause. Use Ste for Sainte, Ave for Avenue, etcetera.

If you have already put in all or most of the info when you got the shipping is down message, just try refreshing and entering the label again. That works for me almost every time...unless there really is a problem with the address.

Is it an out of country address? Sometimes there is an extra word in there...for example the buyer might include the district name but the label won't print until the name is taken out. To check on that I usually google the address to get more information.

Also, try printing the label at paypal.com/shipnow

The same discounts apply there.

I used PayPal Shipping about 1/2 hour ago and it kept saying it is not available and I tried it 5th time and finally it went through.  Everything in the address, name, etc. is fine, it is just "down" on PayPal Shipping part.   I noticed it is happening too often lately, like about 20 times in the last 30 days which is way too much!! 

I think PayPal Shipping needs to mainteance it really good and to keep it up-to-date and on going service.

My guess is they shortened the servers 'time out' for requests sent to canadapost. CP servers not responding fast enough, times out to reserve resources...keep pp system from hanging. Could be wrong, just a guess.

Hey all, finally found the answer. It is a glitch with pay pal. I was doing several transactions with our account and then wanted to print labels and because it was so much, they shut us down. Worked fine today. Thanks for the suggestions.

Was down for me this morning as well!

A seller told me about this address, and it worked the other day.  This morning twice it worked when I got the "paypaly is down message",  Then on the third label I got the same message II was getting through ebay link.  So then I went back to ebay to print and it worked.    Basically that address has got me out of trouble a couple of times!
