PayPal made a change to the notification emails it sends to sellers, but it took at least some by surprise and appears to have caused problems with merchants' automated email systems. Sellers noticed that over the weekend, PayPal notification emails no longer contain the buyer's email address, for both eBay and off-eBay transactions.
A seller who had set up an automated response system to thank customers and direct them with additional instructions said he expects to receive failure notices of delivery.
