I was checking Tracked Packet USA with PayPal ShipNow option. It appears to working correctly. It gives the correct shipping rate based on weight as long as the item is under the allowed dimension for the service. I tried all kinds of weight and dimension combinations and I got the correct postage amount for test with valid data or error messages if my tests had invalid data. Using Tracked Packet also seemed stable and glitchy like before.
I wonder if they left the postage amount showing on the PayPal label for Tracked Packet. All other services do not show postage using PayPal labels as far as I know. Please post if postage is fixed if you use PayPal tracked Packet.
I emailed Kalvin for a confirmation that Tracked Packet is officially fixed.

Hooray!! Thank you for your persistence on this issue.
Next time I need to ship with tracking, I'll give it a try and will post the results here too.

Kalvin has confirmed that it is fixed today. Official announcement soon.

Any mention of who do we contact to get refunds on overcharge for postage?
05-01-2013 10:28 AM
Kalvin replied to me that they are working on the details of refunds on how overpayment will be done. It involves eBay, PayPal and Canada Post so a little more involved.
I cannot comment further since I do not know.

***Site issue: PayPal Shipping Labels***
22 April, 2013 | 13:16
PayPal Canada launched Canada Post's new Tracked Packet USA and Tracked Packet International services on the PayPal label printing flow on April 9, 2013.
After investigating community reports of pricing inconsistencies, we've learned that in some cases sellers buying labels for Tracked Packet USA and Tracked Packet International on PayPal are being overcharged.
The root cause of this issue has been identified and will be addressed as soon as possible. We do not yet have an estimate on timing for the fix.
We will work with our partners at PayPal and Canada Post to ensure that every overcharge is found and credited back to each seller's PayPal account in due course.
Note that eBay's research rates and calculated shipping features are unaffected by this issue, and are functioning correctly.
Keep track of what you overpaid if you know. Hopefully refunds will be automatic since some sellers who used PayPal Tracked Packet may not even know they were overcharged.

I just tried to print a shipping doc using Tracked Packet USA and the option has completely disappeared from the radio button on the PayPal site page for shipping.
On the phone now with PayPal and as usual they are completely clueless...
What a pain in the behind!

Whenever I need to purchase the shipping label via PayPal Shipping, I always check to see how much would it cost to ship by XpressPost, or Tracked Packet, etc., each time.
To my surprise that there is no Tracked Packet to Hensville, GA (USA)!! I thought it is available to each state in USA or am I wrong. I knew only 20 countires for International but also limited to some USA towns/cities?
What a farce is Canada Post for removing the insurance from air mail small packet!! They should leave it alone and give it as an option not to remove it completely!! Now I cannot ship it by Tracked Packet, forcing me to ship by Expedited.
By Expedited, we no longer have 25% discount and what worse about it is that they increased it by $3.00 more!! What a highway robbery!! Reduced the discount and then increased it by $3.00!! Ha to Canada Post.
If Canada Post thinks it will generate more $$$ or more mail volume, it is NOT GOING TO WORK!! They need to lower the rates to attract us to ship more.

They need to lower the rates to attract us to ship more.
I chuckled at this statement... I thought customers dictated that sellers ship more, not the postal rates. We all make a choice to sell online, it is not realistic for us to drive and hand deliver an item going 14 hours away. So we rely on the systems at hand. We all knew shipping options going in, and we all know prices increase in time.. rarely decrease. Its just the nature of things.
Sure you can spin it saying shipping rates are too high, and that is causing people not to buy from you. But EVERYONE is effected. Maybe there is not as much disposable income around? Maybe people are saving for summer vacations, getting cottages/trailers open for the season, home renovations?? there are just as many variables for sale decreases as we have shipping options.
While I do understand that shipping fees are high (compared to other countries *perceived* shipping costs) I am not 100% sold a fee reduction is the answer as you have eluded to on a few occasions. I have found Canada Post's rates cheaper vs other parcel companys. (not to mention the lack of brokerage fees and such) The majority of items I sell are in the expedited shipping range, so this system works for me. $25-30 shipping and they get the product in 5 days or less is not bad value(and that includes clearing customs and going to far parts of the US).
The way I look at is, the only constant thing in life is change. With change comes glitches, learning curves and acceptance. Be happy with what you have, because it can always be worse, and you never know when what you do have will be gone.

Hmmmm, lemme see, since I was trying to use Tracked Packet USA I guess that they are in the USA. Indiana to be exact...
As of just a minute ago it is still MIA from the radio button in the PayPal shipping area.

I tried PayPal ShipNow and there is no Tracked Packet for the USA or the U.K. (countries I tried) when I tested right now.
Sigh, sorry I reported it as fixed when eBay/PayPal/Canada Post had not officially announced it. Maybe they found another bug testing and pulled it from PayPal options again.

Let us assume that Canada Post now breaks even with the current rates. If they lower prices below their costs and mail volume goes up, they increase their losses. What makes you think that more mail volume is the key to making a profit. Costs has to go down as well.
For example, if you were to cut your eBay item prices, then you might have more sales. But would you make a profit if you lowered prices below your costs?

Hey man, it's not your fault. The level of incompetence involved here between Ebay, PayPal and Canada Post is astounding. I'm on hold now with Ebay after having been on the phone with PayPal last night for 2 hours. The Ebay customer service guy came back on a minute ago just to tell me that he contacted PayPal and they told him that if Tracked Packet wasn't available in the screen that I would have to use another service. Can you believe that? Well duh! I swear, not once have I ever gotten anything even remotely resembling customer service from these stupid call centers in the Philippines. That's why we pay outlandish fees so we can get sub 90 intelligence customer service reps on the phone to do nothing but waste our time....I'm absolutely furious right now. Sales have been in the dumper and I finally get a sale, a small one but a sale nonetheless and I can't even ship it economically because they have jacked up the Expedited rate so much. Canada Post raised their rates 3 percent and somehow that translated out to 8% or more on our end. Sounds like we are just being screwed again!

Do not forget Pitney Bowes. They are the one administering the program since 2006.

I used Tracked Packet USA yesterday. It worked fine, paid 14.51 CAD for 500 grams from Quebec to Ohio.

And I used it without issue on the 29th. It's gone now and after 3 phone calls to PayPal it is still gone and every time I call I start from scratch as no one has a clue what I am talking about. I'm so happy they are taking the problem so seriously...[insert sarcastic whatever].

Just tried to print a label for Tracked Packet to the U.S.
The option doesn't show up, I didn't see it yesterday either....
Hope they fix this soon....
I wonder why it's taking so long, you would think this is a priority as it affects all sellers.
