Hello Canadian sellers,
This thread is open for discussion regarding the recent announcement about eBay Canada retiring USD support from its selling flows. Myself and other employees will come visit this thread and do our best to answer any questions on this topic.

February stats:
Feb2016, nb. of sales: 179
Feb.2016 total sales: 20.8k$
Feb2017, nb of sales: 50
Feb2017 total sales: 8062$
% of sales drop: -72.1%
% total sales$: -61.24%
They forget to add the "minus" when they said Canadian items have 85% more visibility. -85% should be the good number.

FALSE, I have TRS status for Worldwide and even though I created the item ad on .com, with 1-day handling time and 30-days return, I don't have TRS badge, or TRS plus badge.
Thanks for checking best match ranking with my item.
It's not false. When Canadians have global trs we receive the fvf discount on all sales and trs status on .com and .ca. But in order to receive the trsplus logo on our listings we have to meet the same requirements as US trs, not just the global requirements. I checked a few of your listings and they have 2 day handling service rather than the 1 day required. I don't know if you have 90%+ uploaded tracking for US buyers and meet any other requirements but if you do, your listings would have the trs badge for listings set up on both sites.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/top-rated.html
If you look at your dashboard - US region - it should tell you your uploaded tracking rate and how many listings are meeting the return/handling time requirements.

I have TRS for US region. I met all points EXCEPT the carrier validated scan. ('cause many of my shipment is small packet). However, it is indicated that this point is not required for Canadian sellers.
Also, I have created some items with 1-day handling time/30days return. I do not have TRS plus badge nor TRS badge.
Customer service is not able to find why I do not have trs badge, even though, all requirements are met.

Just saw this on my seller Dashboard:
We're making some changes to the US eBay Top Rated Seller policy, effective Jun 20, 2017. Here's what you need to know:
Also, starting May 01, 2017, final value fee discounts for US Top Rated Plus transactions will be 10%.
Just another stone on Canadian head sellers, as Airmail small packet USA did not validate the shipment. This is my shipping service for up to 60% of USA shipments
using expedited parcel, double the shipping price, sometimes triple! Making me (or us) uncompetitive to USA buyers, even though Canadian buyers, as CPC rates are oftenly over USPS First class mail service or Priority mail.

Canadians don't need to meet the uploading requirements to receive the discount or to be considered a trs in the US but that doesn't mean that you receive the trs plus badge. In order to do that you have to meet ALL requirements that US sellers do including the uploading requirement. The .ca help pages on this aren't clear as they have a mixture of new and old information which isn't valid so I won't post a link to them but I have posted info from a previous seller update. (Spring 2014).
Canadian sellers who qualify as either US Top Rated or Global Top Rated will receive the 20% final value fee discount on all listings, provided they were created on either eBay.ca or eBay.com.
Canadian sellers who can’t meet the Top Rated Plus requirements (to upload a tracking number for 90% of their transactions to US buyers, to offer 1 day handling and 14 (now 30) days returns on their listings) will still receive the 20% final value fee discount if they are able to meet all other US Top Rated requirements. In these cases, the seller’s listings will not show the Top Rated seal on eBay.com, and will not have as strong a position in search as listings meeting the Top Rated Plus requirements.
In order for uploaded tracking numbers to count towards your 90% target for US buyers, a tracking number must be valid, meaning it needs at least one carrier scan recorded by eBay.
NOTE On June 20, 2017 the uploaded tracking changes to 95%

Airmail small packet USA Do have tracking# & scanning bars on it...CPC just don't want t to give tracking infos. However, USPS have decided to give tracking infos on their First class mail shipment for Ebay users ONLY.
Anyone purchasing postage online receives delivery confirmation on first class international to specific countries. They don't have to be eBay sellers
The Canadian sellers that I know don't use tracking enough to meet the trs plus requirements but if I see one that does, I will let you know.

You are so right! I'm just a small seller since 2007 but I find this change is just horrible! Most of my buyers have been from USA and now a lot of them just don't buy ~ the currency difference seems to confuse them.
So, I'm using both sides .ca & .com ~ a different category of items on each side. I was hoping that at least they'd buy from the .com site but it's dying as well.
I've tried an experiment setting up 5 of the same items first in Cdn and then the same item in Usd (not listing them at the same time, of course). I vary them back and forth just to "test the waters" but absolutely nothing is helping.
I used to "open my store" in the a.m. and find a number of items had sold overnight ~ Not Any More!!
Sales are very discouraging ~ I'm a senior and I really don't think it's worth the work for the little bit I'm getting back.
I run from 500 to 800 or more listings most of the time but hardly make a sale.
To add to my misery, I'm currently working on my income tax and the federal government has taken it upon themselves to make filing even more complicated.
Personally, I plan to downsize my site Immensely ~ I've been combining items together and when it's small enough I may just close up. At least I have another hobby to keep me busy ~ knitting socks!!
Hope I haven't discouraged you too much ~ just read your post and decided to add my input.

Yes, we understand, but due to these new regulations, sales have plunged! I've never seen it so deadly quiet.
03-10-2017 09:53 PM
3-days this week WITHOUT any sales or questions....never happens since the first year of operation in 2007.
03-11-2017 02:18 PM
I understand completely! I'm currently boxing my craft patterns and kits into "lots" and putting up for Best Offer.
Can't take this slow pace any longer ~ time to go into Complete Retirement.

ebay.ca has created such a mess! Since day 1 I've listed in usd. Now I have listings in both and my customers are confused.
I put items ups for Best Offer in Canadian $ and receive offers in US $ ~ some members just don't notice nor understand the difference.
Thank You ebay.ca for making such a Confusing Mess! I've had it ~ already bulking things together and slowing down. And I realize ebay doesn't care if I leave ~ just "sounding off".
Retirement will be less stressful ~ back to knitting socks.

As of last friday when a **bleep**er who didn't like my prices executed the BINs on $1000 of listings and then immediately demanded I cancel the transactions or he'd leave negative feedbacks that I wouldn't be able to leave negatives back for (thanks again ebay for eliminating that ability from sellers years ago), I've decided that ALL my re-listings from cancellations and future new listings will just be on ebay.com in USD. Listings there have half the available period for non-paying bidders (4 max before FVF credit instead of 8 as on ebay canada, so less time to be inconvenienced by such defective human beings before they get strikes on their accounts and I can relist the item), and on just 14 new listings so far up this morning several are already being watched by buyers.
That above...flakey **bleep**d buyers executing BINs on stuff they don't actually want, is the only thing that has increased for me since Ebay forced the changeover to CAD dollar listing. My 370ish existing CAD$ listings will just remain until they've sold.

You can file an unpaid item after 48 hours on .com but need to wait another 4 days to close it so the total is 6 days, not 4.
