Sale was not complete but seller still left a negative feedback

I sold an item this am, but just before it sold my flight got cancelled and had to rebook. The result was I was not going to be able to ship the sold item with in 3 days as I listed but instead 4 days.

 

I contact the seller (10 minutes after the item sold) and let him know my issue and offered a refund if he did not want to wait. Seller got back to me and offer to wait the extra day if I took the $10 off the price (the item sold for $10.50). I refused and issued the refund as with shipping, fees etc I woudl lose money on the transaction, be out the item and have the hassle of shipping it. All this happened within 2 hours of the sale

 

He left negative feedback. Can I do anything?

All you can do is ask the buyer if he will accept a feedback revision request from you.If he says no then there is nothing you can do.You did,after all,violate eBay rules when you refunded the buyer's payment and didn't ship.Your buyer was entirely within his rights in leaving negative feedback for you if he chose to. Just as sellers have heard every excuse known to man as to why. Buyer can't pay,buyers have heard innumerable excuses from seller's as to why they can't ship on time,Your buyer may not have believed your story about the reason for the delay.
