Scales for shipping

For those who are looking for a low weight (under 5kg) scale the Starfrit 5-kg. Digital Kitchen Scale is on sale at Canadian tire for $11.99 this week.

Accuracy is very good (at least mine is).

Re: Scales for shipping

But if you send him a Private Message, I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from you. Pierre and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye on things (and had our share of public and private disagreements) but I do get worried when regular contributors suddenly drop from the radar. I've reached out to people a few times now just to assure myself they were alright. I last spoke to him in the earlier part of autumn. It's been awhile.

I contacted him a few weeks ago as I too noticed he was absent. At that time, he assured me all was well and that he was simply taking a break from the Boards.

That's good to know, thanks.  You can't help but worry when someone suddenly "disappears".

Re: Scales for shipping

All this 'toy talk' makes for a  funny thread, off topic or not.   I looked at those Hatchimals listings and those "highest price" ones from the same seller all have IPR on them so I don't know if that would have been there all along or if the seller wised up at some point.  Who can make an IP for $55,000?  They'd need to have the Visa Black Card I guess.  Either way, even rich people should be teaching their children about the value of money.

There are limits on buyer spending so even without IPR I was wondering if something with a pricetag like that even could be bought and not paid by a kid:

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/limits-on-buyers.html

I did see a contact option on the seller's page so I hope the seller is prepared for what will follow once all the more moderately (if I can say that) priced items are sold.  I agree this is just about the dumbest toy fad ever and for the money they don't even look good, they look poor quality, not like a toy that will last and give endless hours of fun.  Preteen girls will have them sitting around their rooms for a few years at most, after which all these things, millions of them, will be in the landfills.

I wonder if the seller will still be charging that as it gets closer to Dec 25th.  The big dilemma,  reduce the price to a realistic figure and actually sell some, or keep it high and hope for that last-minute desperate soul who will make it all worthwhile and save the seller's Christmas just like ordinary seller's are hoping to save a child's.  Know in a month, I guess.

Re: Scales for shipping

That antique scale of mine is big

It stands 24 inches tall...   and about the same from left to right.
