I am getting annoyed at all the changes Ebay has made. I believe they are ridiculously unfair! And now there is another increase coming for items that sell? Ebay has sooo many problems and yet there is nowhere for US to give THEM a STAR RATING on how WE feel THEIR service is!! That is because they know they'd fail terribly!!!
Unfortunately, because I have A LOT of newbie buyers who don't read the full listing with all the info, my stars have gone down and I have been put on a lower search standing 😞 That is completely unfair!
I do my very best, I ship within 24 hours even though I am a homeschooling mother of 2 and have very busy/hectic days, and yet because the Post Office takes their sweet time to deliver, I am given less star points even though I mention it beforehand in all my auctions!!
I believe that since we can no longer leave buyers negative, they should at least have a dashboard as well and be marked on things like quickness of payment (a HUGE problem since no more neg. feedback from sellers)
Something needs to be changed! They keep gobbling up more and more of our money yet the Ebay glitches and problems keep increasing instead of getting better!
NOT COOL EBAY, NOT COOL!!!

Your item has been shipped from CANADA. Please look inside for important details.
I totally agree that the new system is not fair. I cannot get around how a 4 point rating is a good rating for buyers but a really bad rating for us sellers with serious consequences.

I was nice and let her out of it. She left me feedback and my DSR's dropped drastically. I wrote to her and asked her if by some chance she had rated me with 1's in the DSR's because maybe she thought that was appropriate because none of them applied to her. She was very apologetic about the whole thing. Although she did not admit to doing that, she also did not deny it. I firmly believe that this is what happened. It happened at the end of the month and I got a 5% discount instead of 15%.
All because of a newbie who did not understand the star system.

Another seller in here believes she had probably been doing it all along. I'll soon see if my dsr's go up more. I have no idea why she did this. We both live in the same city and she has a very succesful store.
I received an email the other day because I still had her blocked and she seemed surprised by this, but said she was sorry that my feelings got so hurt. My feelings aren't hurt anymore and we've all had a good laugh...lol.
It is an unfair system, but it's unfair for all of us and most of us have received unfair feedback. But educated buyers see through this and will still continue to buy. I used to never look at a seller lower than 98% feedback and even then I researched their feed back. I certainly look at the sellers with feed back lower than 98% now to see why it is lower.
When the dsr's came in my shipping time was low, around 4.3 or close to that. I educated my buyers at every opportunity and they came back up within a month and I got my discount the last 2 months. My communication dsr also went higher even though it was fairly high already. Now my scores are 5, 4.92, 4.63, 4.80. It only takes a few seconds of my time. I have my email preferences set up and they automatically go to the buyer at the appropriate times and I add a leaflet with every order. It really helped me. I also provide Canada Post's website so they can check the info. Only thing is you need a University degree to find the info 🙂 I state in my listings and email to the US & International mailing suggested standards and reasons why they might be delayed-Customs/Homeland Security, holidays, no shipping in Canada on weekends.
Unbelievable today I got feedback from a buyer from the UK and she received her parcel in 5 days. Quicker than some get in the US or Canada for that matter.
The other thing you might look at until you can get your dsr's back up is to get a premium store, you pay around $50.00 a mth, but it includes Selling Manager Pro, no listing designer fees and Increased Exposure as well as a few more features. It costs me about $18.00 more a month than what I was paying before.
I hope things go better for you cocinellarosa 🙂

Miraculously, just as quickly as my DSR's took a plunge, they jumped back up close to where they were before. And with only 2 new feedback added so it must be due to the 30 day cycle and the low ones dropping off. It is just unfortunate that one buyer has the ability to make you lose your discount for the month.
So don't be too discouraged. Hopefully yours will soon reach higher levels again too.:-)

ampurtle: unfortunately, I have brought this up with Ebay itself but it has fallen on deaf ears, from reading many other posts this seems to be their usual habit, so I felt like posting here and seeing if another seller might be able to help me and possibly have someone from Ebay read it and perhaps take it to someone higher up who might take it into consideration, but I thank you for your message 🙂

Totally agree! Buyers have so many rights while sellers unfortunately do not. Buyers wouldn't be able to purchase
without a seller and eBay should take this into consideration. Sellers don't even know of the outcome when they report buyers. Did they get the strike or not? Absolutely ridiculous in every way and it is very frustrating.

Sellers should also be able to see who gives the low DSR ratings. It's all a big secret.
