Shipping charges on my wish list are one amount, but double or even triple when I look at item details. Why is this?

A listing on my wish list might even have free shipping, but then I click on the item and the amount changes to $10, $12 or more. They start out reasonable, and then it details double or triple into double digits. Anybody know what's going on?
