Tell Us About Your "it" Item Purchased on eBay

This is sort of a sentimental "It" story. 52 years ago I met my future husband in a little town in Devon, England. We used to walk along the river bank and sit on a special park bench where we cuddled up to keep warm (at least that was our excuse). When we emigrated to Canada in '65 we had a lot of memories but little else.
I was searching through eBay a while back and found an old postcard of the riverbank and the exact bench where we used to cuddle. I purchased it immediately and for our 51st wedding anniversary I gave it to my husband. What memories it brought back and now we have something we can actually show the kids/grandkids when we talk of courting in the old country. Thank you eBay and the many wonderful sellers you have (We'll just ignore the not-so-good ones; unfortunately every community has its bad apples)

My 'IT' experience lately would be HONEST SELLERS and getting back into selling and buying on here.

My ultimated IT item would have to be NIB Birks for only $10!! I love honest shippers/sellers.
Keep it up..xoxo

Ps: I have to agree with UPS, for my item that only COST $10.45 and $8.50 shipping..I had to pay $21.00 ON TOP OF THAT to get my package from them. 😞
I didn't know until it came to my door..

My 'IT' items HAVE to be the Original Uncut undubbed unmutilated Japanese Versions of Yu Gi Oh and Sailor Moon!

Like many YGO and Moon Fanatics,I'd settled for the watered down sappy version of Sailor Moon and the obliterated mangled Yu Gi Oh DVD's.

I figured that after striking out in video stores and bookstores to try here and sure enough I found out that I was right that there are TRUE original Japanese Versions that show what was cut out when the shows hit American Soil before hitting the airwaves.

My other 'IT' items have to be finding Rick Springfield's Hard To Hold when the bookstore's online store had it permanetly unavailable to order! WAHHH! I can't tell you how many times my mom, brothers and sisters had called the radio station during the Hard To Hold Contest! I thought I'd never want to see another pizza for the rest of my LIFE! I'd seen the theatrical release oh about 50-60 times!

The other item would have to be finding unavailable to order Mary Higgins Clark DVD's for my mom! BIG Mary Higgins Clark fanatic.

Hmmm what else?!

oh gosh I've gotten so many things that no one could get me it's hard to choose but I'll go with the Marilyn Monroe items I got for my dad who is a HUGE Marilyn Monroe fan.

Does anyone KNOW how hard it is to find ANYTHING of her's? I do! It's next to impossible to find anything my dad DOESN'T have! I'm literally slamming into pictures I've forgotten about and have on my ebay watch list that I have to take off!

Anywho those are my 'IT' items.

:^O I have had many "IT" moments. eBay is a wonderful tool. My most recent "IT" moment came when I won an authentic Dekembe Mutumbo jersey when he played for the Atlanta Hawks. For any basketball fans out there, you know this jersey is wayy back in the 90's when he used to play for them. This jersey is rare as there are not any on eBay compared to other jerseys that are available on eBay. I was pleased in myself on comming across it. I also had many "IT" moments when i purchased many atlanta paraphernalia and recently a backpack with speakers

My "it" was my first Russian wristwatch. It was a SLAVA automatic with a glass back...and I was both astounded at its high quality and totally hooked. I now have 30 Russian watches in my collection...and counting! As an honourable mention is when I received a Mig clock from Ukraine...it is a gorgeous instrument from the cockpit of a Mig-29.

My first and second purchases have gone very well. Kept to North America. Be wary of international purchases with extremely high shipping costs.

No question! My wife collects old Fisher Price, especially Sesame Street. In the 1970s they offered key chains made with the figures, and I got a Sherlock Hemlock (we're also Sherlock Holmes fans) key chain for her -I'll put it in one of those shadow boxes. Love Love Love Ebay - has made my life so much better this fall, and made life easier financially, too! Thank you!

I have been an active ebay user for about 4 years now. I must say that my EBay days are over! The amount of scam listings and account hijacks is unacceptable, but worse yet is the response from EBay and Paypal. I have had 4 open complaints that were rejected, and numerous fraud warnings of sellers who sell there items then cancel their listings, then relist the same item the next day.
For criminals who want easy money, EBay is it. All they have to do is sell fake items for buy-it-now, request immediate payment and they are good to go. My most recent complaint was from a lady in Iowa who's account was hi-jacked for a louis Vuitton bag. EBay let me know I got scammed, as did the lady in Iowa (not her fault whatsoever). I placed a claim with paypal and it was rejected because the hi-jacker in CHINA! sent me a empty box, so my claim was denied because my staff at work signed for an empty box. What a load of garbage!
Just yesterday I was scammed again. The user "chinesehockeyfan" sold me an item, then claimed he did not make enough so he canceled all bids and relisted the damn thing 10 more times today!
EBay called this an unsubstantiated claim and left it at that.
I think I have had enough, and if EBay does not work towards responding to my concerns I will be in contact with my lawyer.
Anyway, I would like to hear from anyone else who has had these problems. jedi.mike@hotmail.com

I collect hermes scarves and my favourite pattern is Early America. This is the first scarf/pattern I bought in France in 1984. People who are not familiar with hermes should know that patterns are only re-released, often in different colour schemes, infrequently. My "it" purchase was buying an authentic scarf in this pattern from a wonderful seller. It was also a thrill to get back to a current seller with the same scarf in a particular colour and letting them know what year it was issued in! They didn't know but I did because it was one of the gifts I received for my 40th birthday.

A book called Singing Wheels by "The Alice and Jerry Books"
My Mom just turned 70 and it was a reader she had in school. As a child I read that book over and over and a few years ago she gave it to me. A place I lived it, had some major water damage in the spring and the book was damaged. Although it's not my "Mom's Book" with her name written it in; I was so happy to be able to replace this book 🙂

My "IT" item was a leather jacket I bought my husband for Christmas. It is a Toronto Maple Leaf jacket. I have never seen this in stores, and we shop for TML clothes all the time. I got it for less than half of similar jackets. And the best part was that IT was an unexpected gift that he LOVES.

I just purchased a vehicle the seller said had minimal rust and in good condition. I paid a deposit and flew a few days later to pick it up. The seller picked me up, gave me the bill of sale and I paid him in full. ( I held my end of the bargain). He brought started the vehicle with a grinding starter and we I drove it out of the garage. I told him this vehicle has alot of rust. He said its not bad, and he then told me A/C and door locks don't work. I drove it away, and it shook so bad every piece of plastic shook. I went to a gas station to check the oil and looked it over and I new this vehicle has seen alot, I mean alot of salt. Holes in wheel wells Rust everywhere. The seller said it is sold as is. I made it home and was just sick of the purchase I made. I want to know if I can do anything to this Seller or is lying though your teeth aloud. Please someone give me some advice other than don't buy something site unseen. (But this would be good advice.)
