Ratings go up and down. I believe Charest's approval rating also went up during the student "uprising" in Quebec, which is why he called an election.

But he was almost sure to lose it. It's that appearance of the situation being out of control, month after month - and the "leader" powerless to do anything about it.

Who knows, with luck Harper may meet the same downfall.

I'm gonna have to re-read the story about Dave again to mebbe find out if Dave has expressed partisan political views other than pertaining to Native leaders. 

I imagine that if some here find a blemished cucumber in the produce aisle, their first reaction is to blame Harper.
