I hear that the Cardinals are going to elect the pope.
Does that mean the KC Royals are going to elect the next king or queen?

Its unfortunate the pure innocent magnificent beautiful red cardinalis cardinalis has to be associated with those monsters in rome.
The whole affair has become quite ridiculous. Would be appropriate for a mass raid and arrest by a international team of law enforcement. Chances are great many of the hypocrites there are pedophiles or homosexual pedophiles and or with a history of hiding pedophiles of the cloth]:)
Whats the difference between joe paterno and the many identified cardinals with a history of hiding pedophiles?

Ah - I just think they are in a slump.
Maybe they should just change their batting order around a bit.
Old enough to know better. Young enough to do it again. Crazy enough to try

Recently Britain apologized to India for massacres they committed in India. Do you suppose any religion would do the same? Without religion, would there be peace? I don't think so.

The new pope is from Argentina - Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
The poor man's pope. Takes the bus to work each day.
Cooks his own meals. Lives in a tiny apartment.
The first non-European pope.
He has taken the name Pope Francesco - after Francis of Assissi - the reformer.
This is what CNN is reporting.

No one knows at this time. He is known as a traditionalist.
Odds are, things like expanded women's roles in the Catholic church are unlikely.
As well, no changes to the church's stand on abortion, birth control, homosexuality or marriage for priests.
However, he is more likely to address the more serious issues such as the sex scandals.
Some are speculating that he may reform the elitist image of the upper echelons of the church and could eventually put more emphasis on Priests to live a more Christian life style and not to live like rich potentates.
He gives his first mass tomorrow. It is expected that he may give a hint as to what can be expected during his "reign".
P.S. I am not a Catholic, but as there are over one billion in the world, the Pope's stand on various issues will have an impact on the world. It is interesting that the staid old Catholic Cardinals recognized that South America is the largest concentration of Catholics on earth - and growing. The fact that they chose an Argentinian for Pope shows that they know where the money is going to come from. This is a break from tradition in itself.
