I was on E-bay since 14 years, I had always my opening bids at 99c, with a 10c fee.
I sold cheap items as Holy Cards, post cards, magazines etc. with no market value.
What made the value of my items was the wishes of the customers.
I can't continue with E-bay with an insertion fee at 30c.
Insertion fee cost 30c
Final fee for $1 cost 10c
Paypal cost 35c + 5c for 40c
Now I have about 75c of fees to pay to sell an item $1. HORRIBLE.
You have destroy that cheap market with the obligation
to be paid vis paypal with a 35c for each transaction and a 30c
as insertion fee.
We can see that you wan't to be bordered with that market.
If you give a look to my account, you'll see that I have pay to
E-Bay, since 1999, a lot of money, many $1000 !!!
I hope you'll come back with the insertion fee at 10c or you'll
have more FREE INSERTION FEES..
THANKS,
Usa184.

This is a member to member forum.
You will need to contact ebay directly with your complaint. The responders here can't do anything about the fees. In fact, many of us of the same frustrations but there is a solution, close your account. Ebay will not change anything that might their investors unhappy and they are all about catering to their investors, not the sellers who pay the fees that keep them in business.

I have another option: you can use only the 50 free listings on .ca and the 50 on .com per month.

Add to your costs your wages. At 17 cents a minute, the Ontario minimum wage, you are also losing money on free listings.
If you are finding buyers for your items, they are not worthless. Frankly, if something cannot be sold as a single item for $9.99 or more, parcel them up in a lot that will. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

In the last month you listed about 200 items. If those were all listed on one site, you would have had to pay for about 150 listings. 140 x.30 =$45. A basic store costs $20/month (less if you commit to a year) and you get 150 free listings a month on .ca and another 150 on .com. A store might work well for you.

"YES, E-Bay is NOW a BUSINESS to make money..."
eBay has always been in business to make money.... going back to 1995.
And eBay seems to make more every year. So does WalMart. So do the Canadian banks. That is the way our system works.
