I'm using Expediated for US only. I have customer complaints almost every week. I had one this morning from Alta Loma California who has been waiting since August 2nd for his package to arrive.... Expediated is not the answer... I need something else that is flaster, traceable and insurable... Am I the only one???

Hi Kim, What is your meaning of post#60 "you can mail any item that fits within the size and weight requirements of the letterpost product" Can I mail CDs or DVDs by letterpost to US or letter mail to CA ???

WHAT'S WITH THE CANADA POST NOT ALLOWING CLAIMS FOR BROKEN ITEMS.I RECENTLY SOLD A METAL MIXERMASTER.. THE BOWLS WERE GLASS AND ONE BROKE.. BUT THIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM,, SOMEHOW THE BASE WAS RIPPED OFF THE METAL MIXER AND CANADA POST WOULD NOT PAY ..MY BUYER SHIPPED THE ITEM BACK TO CANADA POST AS REQUESTED.

Post 101 still doesn't answer the question of whether Small Packet Service will be available for Canadian to Canadian destinations.

Why is it cheaper to send from Vancouver to Miami or London compared to Van to Toronto? Density or population in this case doesn't seem to be a huge factor, especially being larger cities.:O

Kim: You have said several times now that Small Packet rates are very economical. I tend to disagree. And your explanation of the difference in rates between US and Canada does not make sense.

Why does it cost $7.50 for a small packet from Canada to the U.S., but a U.S. citizen can send the identical item to Canada for $1.35??? It's the same distance, the same route, and the same people on both sides of the border handling the item. The vast difference in price is not explained by population or distances.

I indeed try to get material to fit letterpost sizes. But there are times when it is physically impossible, and I have no choice but to send as an Expedited (Canada) Parcel.

The question once again is as follows: If I have a 200 gram package that is too thick to go as letterpost, my cheapest option within Canada is to use Expedited (Canada) Parcel. And for this object, the Expedited (Canada) Parcel is more expensive from Montreal to Vancouver than Air Mail Small Packet to the US or overseas.

Why isn't it standard that all Canada Post outlets accept credit cards?
When I get a package at the door with money due I can use one, and at every other retailer I use - but not at my own local post office.

I have shipped quite often to CA and (knock wood) have had no problems, and it is usually within 2 weeks, but one Expedited parcel took 3 weeks.

Have you checked the tracking number on-line, I usually get the CP website to notify me when an expedited parcel has been delivered to its destination. Right now I have 3 that have been delivered, but the buyers haven't left feedback yet...drumming fingers on desk...

It's a dog's life for sure.

It was my understanding that Priority Courier was the only type of service that could not be stuck in the mailbox?

getboard: Kim has already indicated in previous workshops that Small Packet rates within Canada are NOT going to happen.

Thank you Kim for your new policy for shipment about other documents ship by Post Canada. It permit me to reduce the prices on my shipments to the United States. Rgards, Normand Destrempes

Hi scrapscene,

If you are having an issue with a retail employee, you can call our customer service department to give them the specifics and we can then follow up with the particular outlet.

As we have such a large network, it is difficult to keep all of our employees up to date on everything, but we are continually trying to improve this.

Hi Kim,
I am a powerseller and using only Canadapost for sending my items. I am not satisfied with the time taken for delivery and then Canadapost does not update their website. When our customers check the website they see that Item was accepted at the post office last week etc. and they are annoyed. They ask us why the product is still at postal outlet.
Second, we lost one item which was expedited delivered but Canadapost did not give us insurance saying that we had not asked for Signature. So why is then insurance offered and what is the point of $100 insurance. These days I am seriously thinking of moving my business to Fedex or UPS because of delayed delivery time.

Laura, when I print out my postage, the bottom part that I rip off and keep specifically states that Expedited can NOT be dropped in a box.

Is there any plans on offering other choices for parcels from CA to US?? Expedited Parces USA does not compete at all in terms of Delivery Time...

We need something else, we can't afford loosing customers like that!

My problem is not delivery time, which is usually pretty good. My major problem is the cost - as stated many times, Canada Post's costs are out of line with the rest of the world!
