Earlier on, I had posted:
" I shipped using Small package AIR to the U.K. on June 1, 2005.
July 7, I put in a claim with CP for package not received;
July 11, I received a letter informing me that they had started their investigation...
August 18, I phoned asking for developments. I had to leave a message, CS rep. on vacation. I phone another number, was directed to someone else, left another message on that machine.
August 19, a CS rep called to say they would be sending me papers to fill in. I would need copies of all documents. They told me, they don't receive copies by email and no, they can't send me info by fax or get fax of documents.
😞 So snail mail it will be.
Why would it take 5 weeks and 1 phone call for Canada Post to send papers to be filled? Why can't Canada Post accept emails or fax documents to be filled or receive faxed documents. Even the Law accept signatures by fax.
I was also told it could take up to 60 days to track and finish their investigation.... what ever happened to 30 days?
I noticed that Canada Post has no delivery standards for International and from what I can see no performance standards to address a claim. Can we expect Canada Post to develop standards to address complaints?
Shipping from the USA is looking better every day."
The papers promised by Lorraine Bonacci Customer Service (Ottawa), on August 19, 2005 finally arrived by snail mail today. It took 4 business days from Ottawa, I could have walked to Montreal in less time. In reality, it took Canada Post 8 weeks from my original call to send me a sheet of paper and an envelop. Canada Post, were you saving the money for the stamps?
In short, the letter says and asks for:
"In order for us to pursue this inquiry, we require the following:
1- cash register receipt;
2- original insurance receipt;
3- proof of value of the contents (receipt of purchase);
4- CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY BY A CERTIFIED APPRAISER IF AN ANTIQUE OR A COLLECTABLE
Anything to get out of paying out a claim for having lost a shipment.
Well Canada Post, you are in luck! I bought this item on eBay and I later sold it on eBay.
It survived the VeRo inspection not once but twice. I copied the 1st listing and the 2nd listing. Would you prefer a black and white copy or a colour copy?
I saved all the pictures including the stamps under the item. I saved all the emails. I keep all my receipts and even if you wait until 2010 to answer my claim I will still have all this info. I am a patient person but today, I am fit to be tied by your nonchalance in dealing with your customers!
You will get this info before Monday by courrier (NOT by Canada Post, a service you can't rely on for the prices you charge) AND by fax.
