I don't think in the current more secret world that you can find out a person's ebay userid if you only know their name, unless they have advertised it somewhere or there is a google link somewhere that contains both.
As far as I know in the current state you cannot find out the seller name within eBay if you only know their real name outside eBay.
If you happen to know their email address outside eBay it looks like you can find them that way too... on the assumption they use the same email address within ebay.

Select any listing by the seller and click on "ask a question" (under the description section)

One reason eBay members don't usually use their personal names as their eBay IDs is that they don't want their eBay activity to be that public.
The reasons can range from keeping gifts a surprise, to earning enough money to flee an abusive relationship.
If you know the person, ask her eBay ID. If she won't tell you, it's none of your business.

but I don't know the sellers contact name/address for ebay -I only the person's actual name.

If you know the person name, you could find their phone number. Call and ask for their eBay User ID.
