What is with the customs charges being handled on items that you never get charged on.
Is this just another way for eBay to rip off some extra loot along with Pitney Bowes?
I have had watches, cell phones and computer goodies all come through with no issue, just pay the tax when you pick up the package.

"I was told that it is not possible to search eBay listings from sellers without the global shipping program."
Whoever gave you that answer did not know what he/she was talking about. Review this thread and you will find how to identify GSP listing in search results.

It can be done while a listing is active but it's hardly an instant process. Reports suggest that there's a workaround that can be performed after a listing has closed, but not all sellers may be willing to try it.

We aren't talking about sellers, we are the buyers looking for goods to buy that don't have the Pitney Bowes Global Shipping Program applied by any eBay auction.

Okay, I'm really confused now.

Did not fully read your last comment,
it sounded like you were defending GSP.

My solution was to contact the seller and tell him/her if they revise the listing to regular USPS then I'll bid/buy. Worked like a charm.

I don't see why this doesn't make sense. Many of the items I generally purchase don't make any sense to purchase online as the shipping costs make it uneconomical to do so.
Just out of curiosity, though, are you including taxes to the cost of the iPod at the store down the street for a fair comparison to the one on eBay?
