why does my Canada account change currency to U.S. currency when I try to make a bid

Hi Guys,

In viewing listings on the Canadian E Bay site I see the prices in Canadian funds but when I go to bid the price shows up in $US.

Since I am based in Canada, E Bay asks me to change my address.  I had a U.S. address as a gift address in my settings which I have since removed.  Where will I search for the solution to my problem?  Contacting E Bay for help would make me too old to care before receiving a reply.  Any help, suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

eBay changed things so that on ebay.ca you see all listings in their Canadian dollar equivalent. The actual listing does show the currency the seller wants -- be it CA$, US$, Euros, etc

Same goes for ebay.com, except default display will show US dollar equivalents.

Note: This for desktop viewing, I don't know what handheld devices display.

Thank you for your insight. Can you also explain why this change of address keeps coming up when I attempt to pay for item. At that point I am unable to make the change and therefore the shipping can not be calculated leaving the purchase in limbo. What do I have to do or change in my settings to prevent this. I want my item to ship to me in Canada.
