All Fixed Priced Listings Will Be Good Til Cancelled - on all sites
"From 1 April 2019, we’re taking further steps to simplify the shopping experience across all eBay sites. The only listing duration for all fixed price listings for both Business and Private sellers will be Good ‘Til Cancelled."
So take advantage of a 1000 free listing offer and get clobbered on an unwanted relisting unless you manually end before your full time is up. Just lovely...eBay will make many more sellers unhappy.

I don't use auction format much anymore,(it's usually when there is a free listing promo that only offers the auction format(and/or auction with BIN option); but when I do I have a start price at same price as item would be if listed in fixed price format or slightly lower price depending on the item(s), but always at a start price that I would be satisfied with if only 1 bidder...the days of lots of bidding fury are long gone, plus the fact many categories just don't work with the auction format.

Keep your eyes open when listing.
Today I noticed the default duration was set at 'Good 'Til Cancelled'.
When creating new listings today, I had to manually select '30 days' from the drop down menu.
Thanks for the Heads Up
Another thing I noticed today is that I am no longer getting the warning message that I have listings ending today. I figured I could use that so I would know when I had some listings to end before they rolled over, but I currently have a number of listings ending today, and the You Have x Number of Listing Ending Today message is NOT there.
If you do not always have your listings sorted by End Date, and this message no longer comes up, it will be easy to miss them.

The GTC default when listing BIN showed up last year:

FYI Snippet from the US Announcement board:
"Hi everyone, there is an important update from Harry Temkin, VP of Seller Experience at eBay regarding Good ‘Til Cancelled.
By the end of March, we’ll do the math for you and will show you the number of days each listing has been active. Today, sellers can also sort active listings by end date or time left. For GTC listings, end date indicates the next date of renewal, and time left indicates the time left until renewal. Just as you do today, you can start, end, or relist your items at any time you choose."
"We’re also aware of concerns about the 30 day auto-renewal period not syncing with monthly billing cycles. We’re looking into this. Thank you for your patience."
Hopefully, once a solution is found it will be applied to the dot ca site also?

As an update: talking with Customer Service today yielded an official start date of the beginning of June. Either that isn't the case or they are experiencing a lot of calls in protest.
