Hi, First of all, I am not sure if I chose the right Board for this discussion. If not, I apologize.
My issue is: I bought a Tiffany necklace 2 weeks ago. It was fake. I contacted the seller and she agreed the refund and sent me a return label. I then shipped the necklace back.
I did open a eBay request. However, after I shipped the necklace, I accidentally closed the request. I called eBay and the agent told me that there is no reverse. The agent advised me to communicate with the seller and I did. The next day, the seller removed the listing. I could not see the item number and other details. I called eBay again and the agent advised that I could contacted Paypal.
I contacted Paypal and the agent said that if the Tracking showed that the necklace was delivered, then I could get a refund. The necklace was delivered and I emailed the seller. Of course she never replied. I will call Paypal this Saturday.
My questions are:
1. I have never returned any item for refund. Is Paypal my only option to get a refund now?
2. Why the seller is allowed to remove the listing after the deal?
Thank you.

Sellers can not remove sales transactions -- only eBay can do that.
Unfortunately, those removals are often done without any thought towards proper accountability or record keeping.

Yes and no.
Once you close the eBay dispute it cannot be re-opened.
Paypal is available for 180 days from payment. The system is basically the same as eBay's (they were once the same company) except that PP insists the buyer pay return shipping, which is not your problem since the seller already paid.
If PP doesn't work out, and it almost certainly will, you have a third level of protection if you back your PP account with a credit card. You can then use the card's chargeback service.
2. Why the seller is allowed to remove the listing after the deal?
I don't understand this.
EBay will close fraudulent listings if they see them, and this sometimes happens after a sale.
EBay will close down a seller who has a history of bad behaviour.
The seller doesn't get any choice in this.
Or.
If the item was one of a kind, or the last of a multiple listing, the listing would close when there are no more for sale.
You should be able to find the transaction on your PP payment and proceed from there.

Hi @miyatir - you were given some great advice, but want to just chime in and emphasize that if a return or case is closed voluntarily there isn't typically a recourse you have through eBay (an exception to this would be if a seller specifically asked you to close it in exchange for something not related to the transaction, etc).
Your best option at this point is to contact PayPal directly and have them help you out with this. Thanks!
**Edit to add** Thanks for the tag @ypdc_dennis! To clarify, a seller is able to 'end' their listings, but they would still be visible to anyone who purchased them. If a listing is completely inaccessible (it says 'not found', 'listing is no longer available') that's typically an example of when we administratively remove a listing. This could be for a number of reasons, as Femme points out. Either way we want to make sure that you get taken care of, keep us posted!

Hi, I just got the email from Paypal that they ruled in favor of me and refunded the money. It has been quite a hassle as the seller (therealsnobshop) has removed the listing (Paypal confirmed this) - I could not see the transaction on eBay and Paypal. I guess the seller tried not to refund the money and keep the fake necklace and scam another person. Regardless, I got my money back. I have definitely learned the lesson of pressing button on iphone. And thank you very much for your advice.
