Is there any remedy from eBay when you tried to use a $10 eBay coupon but the Seller didn't invoice the Buyer before the coupon's expiry date? After all, the problem is not Buyer's fault and the coupon is not the Seller's doing.

Did you know the coupon had an expiry date?
Did the seller have the shipping costs on the listing?
Generally, if the shipping cost is there the seller doesn't need to invoice the buyer, it's automatic.
And generally, it's a good idea to use a coupon before the last minute/day because of time zones.
You can ask the seller to cancel the sale "at buyer request" if the cost is now higher than you had budgeted.

I knew the expiry date in advance and tried to close the deal two days before that. The seller had not listed a shipping price to Canada, and I was waiting for him to respond to my request for one.

i think you will be out of luck with this one.. An expired coupon is expired.. Not the seller's fault, you should have used it prior to expiry.. wish i had better news for you.
