I ordered an item back in january and by now the seller has completely ghosted me and I’m not sure if the item is even coming at this point. the return window had closed and i’m regretting not doing anything about it earlier but I do need this item very soon and I’m not sure what to do. i had ordered something else from the same seller a month after buying this item and it came perfectly fine? So I’m really confused. Did I get scammed? I don’t know what to do..

It is too late for any resolve for an item ordered/purchased in January...you simply waited too long to address the situation. The item may have gotten lost, but at this point it matters not...The timeframe for any action on that item has passed. The seller is under no obligation at this point...

A Lesson learned.... time to move on.

As mrdutch has says unfortunately too much time has past. A seller should never "ghost" you but if they do you could have opened a claim for item not received (you don't need them to respond to you, eBay does it for you). But that window is 30 days from the estimated delivery date. You are over 6 months at this point so even if you had used PayPal (they used to have 180 day window to open a case), or your credit card company, you've waited too long.

It doesn't mean the seller scammed you, they may have sent it without tracking and it was lost, they could have just been "avoiding" you in the hopes the time would pass (like it has). If you ordered a second item from them and received it, it more likely seems it was lost but you have waited to long now.

If you find this needed item again, make sure you don't let the 30 day window from estimated delivery pass!

The seller did keep on encouraging that they’d re send it etc so i really thought it’d come by now but. clearly not :’)

If the seller did in fact send the item and did respond to having done so, then it was simply a matter of the item not arriving and as has already been mentioned you should have opened an INR case and resolved the matter as per eBay's policy for non-delivery within the timeframe allotted.

At this late date, your only hope for a refund is to open a chargeback with the credit card you really paid with.

I hope that it was the end of January and not the beginning because most cards allow at most a 180 day chargeback period.

If the seller did complete your second transaction, it is likely they thought your first had in fact completed too, especially if you were not opening either an eBay or a Paypal claim.

If you were "incessantly" asking about the first transaction, the seller may have Blocked you as a nuisance and opted for "no communication".

So probably not a scam.

But also not likely that you will ever see the ordered item, through no fault of the seller.

Ah- the Chinese seller?

Not necessarily a scam, the FB is okay considering the pricepoint and the customer demographic.
