Is anyone having trouble with shipments from China to Canada?

I used to buy from China and Hong Kong (to Canada) a lot, the mail was actually faster than from the US. Now I have not received a single parcel I ordered from China since May. I don't think it's a problem with my sellers, I always got good service from those sellers before. I'm wondering if something went wrong with the mail service somewhere between China and Canada.

Anyone have any ideas on this? Same problem? Theories? Actual facts?

Thanks!

I have stopped buying from China. My last 3 orders all from different sellers never arrived, I ask for a refund from the 1st item not received but have decided to bite the bullet on the other two (only a few $) as I do not believe this was the sellers issue.

That's your decision but when you buy on eBay you ARE entitled to receive your item or your money back.  They might still arrive but very late, and you still have 180 days from when you paid to file for a refund for  "Not Received" with PayPal.

Here are a couple links that will help explain why there are such long delays at Customs right now.  I don't expect this will change soon because that would mean that no one is trying to sneak these deadly drugs into the country anymore, and since the drug can be bought legally online in China where it is not a banned substance, the trade is not likely to stop.

I agree, there must be some issue recently. I haven't received 3 out of 5 items from China ordered in October. Another one I ordered in November which is not here yet.

If you have missed the eBay deadline for an Item Not Received Dispute, you can go to Paypal instead for 180 days after your payment.

The RC is under Tools at the top of the PP account page.

Don't get into a conversation with the seller.

"When was it shipped? What service was used? What is the tracking number?"

You want either a useable tracking number that shows the items have reached Canada OR (and more likely) a refund.

If you don't get one of those, escalate to a Claim.

If the seller cannot prove delivery (not shipping, delivery) you will be refunded.

Thank you for sharing. Wow, so the situation is so dangerous that all incoming packages coming from China are being held for inspection, that's why the delay.

You're welcome, and I am glad to hear that some people are reading these things.  It is not a pointless search, as recently they seized a supply of 10 Million lethal doses,

and here,

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/carfentanil-seized-border-vancouver-calgary-1.3714070

and apparently,

The Canada Border Services Agency has made three carfentanil seizures in the Pacific region this year and the RCMP announced late last month it had reached an agreement with China aimed at halting the transpacific flow of fentanyl into Canada,

https://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2016/12/07/toronto-police-make-their-first-seizure-of-potent-and-...

but until sale of the drug is illegal in China there will not be much in the way of stoppage, not when in China it can be legally purchased online.

Promises, promises, but it may be that there will never come a time when shipments from China do not need to be inspected, not until production and sale of that junk is made illegal in China, but that is for the Chinese government.
