I committed to buy a GTX 1080 graphics card last night but accidentally requested a cancel before I sent the payment. I sent the seller a message saying I still wanted to buy and then sent the payment. When I woke up this morning I received an email saying that the order had been cancelled and that it looked like I hadn't payed yet even though I have. Then when I looked at my PayPal it said that the payment had been accepted. So why haven't I received a refund for my purchase and why does eBay seem to think that I haven't payed for it?

Do you back your PP account with a credit card?

If so, look for the funds on your cc invoice.

Remember credit card money doesn't exist.

It's just a promise.

So the 'payment' goes back into the existential potentiality of 'credit'.

If you back your PP account with a PP balance or your bank balance (including a debit card), that is 'real' money and goes back to the balance when cancelled, although it often takes several hours or even days, since there are two banking systems involved (US and Canada).

When an order is cancelled you are automatically refunded. The money will go back to the original funding source but as already mentioned, it can take a few days to show up.
