Canadians Shopping Online Get New $150 Duty-Free Limit from USMCA
Items made in the USA are always duty free.
Why am I paying over $5USD to buy a made in the USA Sears tool?
We are being gouged and I wont be purchasing from Americans if this is how you treat long term customers to your site.
Theres no way duty is 25% on a $20 made in the USA used too from 30 years ago.
This is not acceptable

That's the fee Pitney Bowes charges to handle the importation of the item through the GSP (Global Shipping Program). Even though there's no duty, the item still needs to be "imported".
Oh and the duty threshold for items imported by mail is currently $20

The USMCA (the new NAFTA) has not passed either Parliament or the US Congress.
It is not law.
So the duty free allowance remains at $20, as it has since the 80s.
In any case, if the item were duty free, you would still be paying sales taxes on it.
If your seller uses the GSP there is also a ~$5 US service fee in there.
When the new NAFTA is passed, we will have a $150 duty-free allowance, but will be paying sales taxes on imports valued over $40Cdn.
And that is going to cause a whole mess of worms.
