I purchased something I assumed was a Canadian selling an item as it was listed for Canadian dollars. Then, when I bitd on it and the final total came it was twice as much as I had anticipated on purchasing the item and it was then listed on the same Ebay page as being sold for the amount in US dollars! I do not want to bid on things that switch to American money and I have to pay double. This never happened before even when the sellers were American. When they listed items in Canadian money the deal was done in Canadian money!

I just did my first purchase on ebay today: "Delivery info: Arrives Apr 8, 2025 - Apr 22, 2025". Shipping from USA to Canada... I wonder if I'll get an email or phone call later telling me the EXACT day of delivery... Something like 24 hours in advance... I can't stay indoors for two weeks waiting for a small package..!

Now that the Canada Post strike is dragging its first week (with no resolution in the horizon), I have four orders coming from the US that, unfortunately, didn't make it on time. And they have been left without any updates, over one week now. Not sure if they are going to leave them there sitting, waiting for things to get back to normal here. But...if they are still in the US, why isn't eBay trying to find alternative carriers for the last mile leg of the delivery? Is it just to save money? Any other Canadian buyers in the same boat?

Seller finally issued a Canada Post return label on Wednesday, November 13 at 12:41 AM (EST) for a not-as-described order (days after my requests for a return label). The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) issued notice on Tuesday, November 12 at 12:00 AM (EST) of its intention to disrupt normal Canada Post delivery services with strike actions. If the parties do not come to an agreement this week, the strike is expected to begin on Friday, November 15 at 12:00 AM (EST). eBay writes, "Please make sure to print the label and ship the item back by Nov 26.Once your item is delivered, you can expect a refund within 3 business days." Is there any extension if the parcel gets delayed or lost due to the postal strike? It is not my choice to have it returned by Canada Post. That's the label supplied by the seller. Will I lose my refund if Canada Post does not deliver the item to the seller by Nov 26 for whatever reason? I will of course make sure it's taken to the local post office and have it scanned into the system. This item took 4 calendar days to be delivered to me. Any advice and insights will be much appreciated. Thank you.

I have previously ordered and received an item from a seller in Hong Kong (auto part), and it was good quality with free postage and positive rating provided by me. I decided to order a second slightly different item from same seller and went through the same 'make an offer' process which this time did not work as easily as the first time (although that was also a tad frustrating). Possibly due to time differences between Hong Kong and Canada, and the delay in the seller accepting or declining my offer, my 'offers' have twice timed out with ebay. I finally wrote to the seller directly, and he confirmed the minimum price he would accept, and I made the purchase. Unfortunately, he sent me 2 committed offers to purchase the same identical item when in fact I had only ordered 1. I wrote to him to cancel one of the identical items, but it still continues to show in 'my messages' that 'You've committed to buying this item'. I then tried to cancel the extra one of them through ebay, but could not find a suitable category similar to 'Not ordered'. I did fill in the section to cancel the order with an explanation, but I am guessing that nobody read it, as a notice arrived in my inbox saying that I could not cancel the order as it was already posted. This of course is the case for the 1 item that I ordered, and I want to keep, but it did not address the second duplicate item that keeps showing up requiring me to purchase it. How do I resolve this with ebay please, assuming that the seller has actually cancelled the second incorrect offer to purchase?

Ebay is not letting me report a forged signature on a album cover. It is quite obvious that the signature is forged and is no where near the celebrities signature. They set the price really low to fool teenagers, since thats the main audience of this singer. A normal signed album goes for 500$-1000$ not 100$. Ebay will not let me report it, every time I try to click report it says "Additional Details Invalid". Please help, I can't even email ebay directly bcs I haven't bought/sold anything.

So I'm a buyer in Canada, British Columbia to be specific. When shopping, I put stuff I'm interested in "in the cart" to see if there are going to be gst and pst or not. I recently made a purchace based on this total, and chose an item from the USA that will take 3 weeks to arrive, over a local one in Alberta which would get here in 3 days, because there was no tax, which made it cheaper. Then I got hit up for extra cash from the american courier DHL, by email, for delivery the item. I refuse and don't reply to the email which is possiby a scam. They're sending it anyway, now I don't know if I'm going to be taxed by the post office when it arrives, and am understandably frustrated. It used to be, a few months ago, or so it seemed, that US items didn't have tax, and Canadian located items always did. But now there seems to be no rhyme nor reason. Some US items do have BC tax, some don't, and it's not because they're a business or not. Can anybody explain? I contacted Ebay Customer Support and they were clueless and wasted a bunch of my time asking me for further details, switching agents, and asking me everything three times but providing no answer.

eBay has been made aware of this issue but I am sharing it with all. I was bidding on an auction and became the high bidder. My maximum bid was set much higher than the bid of another winning bid at the time. This now losing bidder upped his bid marginally at least 10 times to a point where he became the high bidder. This bidder then retracted his bids which now made me the high bidder again. Now this is where eBay screws up. At the bottom of the listing, eBay shows the bid retraction which is ok. They then include the amount of the retraction. With a little analysis of the bidding history for this item, a potential buyer can easily determine what my maximum (or close to it) was set at for the item. This does not constitute a fair, honest auction. I am truly surprised that eBay has not addressed this issue previously. Something to consider if this happens to you. I have asked the seller for a bid retraction rather than go the normal eBay route. Perhaps the retraction will show up on the listing the same way as the earlier retracted bid did. You might ask, why would I retract my bid now. Just the principal of the situation.

Weeks ago, I ordered an item and had it sent to Canada. But for some reason, the label of the package set the Canadian address to Germany, and is somehow overlooked by the seller. Many days later when I noticed it had arrived in Germany with a shipping address in that country, I contacted UPS (the courier in question), got a confirmation that the shipping label had a wrong address and was told to ask the seller for authorizing UPS to return it to them so that they could properly send it to the right address afterwards. The seller then apologized for the situation and authorized UPS to do so, but informed me that it would unfortunately take weeks or months for the courier to bring it back. My package has been stuck in Germany for a week or two now. So just in case that it finally gets returned after 2 months, can anyone give me some advice on what to do to speed up the process? I do not have any intention to get a refund in the meantime.

Hi all - as the title says! Someone placed a bid through my account, and even though eBay advises us to contact them "immediately" I don't even have an email address to send info to. The phone line provided by the chatbot redirects me to the website, and the chatbot says there are no live assistants available. No idea what they actually want me to do, under those circumstances. (Yes, I've changed my password, added 2-step verification, and verified my email/mailing addresses.)

So, the item in the screenshot, a lot of New York Islanders memorabilia, is one that I paid 78.10 CAD for, and was excited to receive it... until I went into the app, and saw that the latest update simply says "exception" when I opened tracking. What does this mean, and should I be worried? If something went wrong, what actions should I take?

So i won an auction on Febuary 9 for a nice 3d printer. 275$ and the printer is probaly worth 700+ it is from a very reputable seller with more than 152k items sold on ebay so no small fish. two days after i won the seller contanct me and claim the printer is broken and ask me to full refund and give me 5$ in compensation LOL. I said to that: i want to see some picture and i don't want a refund i want my printer. they responded by saying that its too damage and no picture avalible WOW. cut back to the 14 i still push them into givin it to me and they responded still that it is too damage and now they will send me a 1kg fillament and after the email the item is shipped. the big problem is that the item comes from vancouver and they sent me a shipping code from china. i honestly belive they sent me a 1kg fillament instead of the printer. what do i do because i can't open an item not recive case They did not contact ebay it is not true that it is an old printer since you can buy all the parts you need on their website

Hi, I am thinking about buying a sneaker on eBay ca from a Canadian seller. I did some research on where the sneakers are authenticated and found out that there is only one in Canada. I remember it was in Ontario. If the authentication center in the U.S. is closer than the one in Ontario from the seller, is it possible for the seller to ship it to the one in the U.S.? Or, if the item is sold in Canada and the buyer is also in Canada, will the item just stay in Canada?

Trying to bid on a note and Ebay says the vendor wont ship to canada. Vendor says they use global shipping Program. Bought lots from US before and never had an issue.

I wanted to buy a sight for my rifle from a U.S. vendor but the vendor says that EBAY will not allow him to ship to Canada. The sight is not on the ITAR list of prohibited items.

He has sent me a defective phone. Fortunately, the item arrived on time and I'm within my 30 days. He has removed my negative feedback, and I high suspect he has done it many time before to keep his 100 positive feedback. How is he able to do this? He sent me a revision, which it said I had until January 4th to respond to it. He hasn't responded to the return request, and like the other, isn't worried at all, and comea across as a sociopath. If he is able to remove negative feedbacks, he probably knows how to work other parts of the system to work it his way. I'm already out $300+ becuase one arrived late, and is locked to cricket, even though the seller says it works perfectly and fully functional. I'm worried about loosing this case too. This phone sustained water demage for not being properly sealed, the seller didn't report anything wrong with the phone or any indication that it would fault under normal circumstances. He says that it is not his policy or eBay's to return a phone is it sustained water damage, at least that what he implied. The phone wasn't under water, it was splashed with water from the kitchen sink. I have an A3 (2017), an S10, and S20, that works no problem, even under water. How can I warn people about a bad seller?

I bought two Blu-rays for a family member from the US. The items were sent in one package tracked from the USA. Instead of being sent to Canada to me, the international courier ships it to Australia. This is when the updates stop. Time goes by and nothing. I file for an item not received. Seller refunds me but asks if the parcel turns up to refuse accepting it. It'll then be shipped back to the seller. I'm at work when the package is arrives at my home via Canada Post. Instead of a straight delivery someone at my home ends up paying $22.00 to CP because CP delivered it Xpress Post. I believe I was charged for the screw up. I've already replaced the items by buying from another seller. How do I return the parcel and get my money back from Canada Post?

I purchased an item from a seller from USA who has 100% rating. The listing description stated that the item is brand new, sealed and unused. I received the order almost one month after placing the order. However, when I opened the package there was a damaged postal packing inside the box and the box had no seal. They seemed used and old, with only one earpiece working, other wasn’t working. I checked the serial number on each ear piece and it was different from the one on the box. I reported this to seller and he started threatening me and blaming me that I am lying. He threatened that he will make my life hell, get myself and my family arrested. He threatened he will fly to my place. I talked to the customer agent at ebay over the chat and they told me to wait a few days, if the seller don’t provide return label, ebay will step in. I right away reported the threats and the fraud to my local police. He sent me like 10-15 messages blaming and threatening me. What else should I do? Will I be able to recover my lost money or am I out of luck?

Basically I get an offer from a seller to buy an item at a cheaper price, and 90% of the time the import charges get doubled or more than doubled which makes the now cheaper item more expensive than the original listing, making the offer pointless. Does the seller set the import charges or is that ebay? If its ebay it seems like something is screwing up with their system because it just doesnt make any sense. And I dont want to accept the offer to see if its just a glitch since if its not a glitch then im stuck paying more for the item. I added photos below:

I asked about their return policy in the event this item was not compatible, and they said yes, they accepted returns. So I made an offer $9 less then asking, which they declined. I went to make another offer and noticed they dropped the item price by $5, raiesd the shipping price by about $6, now their policy says they do not accept returns, and the "Make an Offer" option is gone. I realise the price changes might be only graceless buissness choices, but changeing the return policy hours after I asked about it? I can only imagine they hoped I wouldn't notice and refused it in the event it needed returning. This is literally the only one of these items on Ebay, otherwise I would just move on.

I am interested in an item for sale in the US. Listing said seller may not ship to Canada, so I asked. Seller says yes, "you can create a shipping label and send it to our email. We print it and ship it to you." But from what I can tell, a buyer can only print a shipping label if both buyer and seller are in the same country. Or am I wrong? So far I have only ever printed Canada Post labels, but the seller can't use those. Thanks for any advice.

I don't get it. I search for listings located in Canada and a bunch of them are priced in US dollars with shipping to Canada in US$ identified as "international shipping". I don't want to pay in US$ for something that is located in Canada and shipped to me in Canada. I mean even the seller loses out too in that case, no? With the exchange rate fees? What am I missing?
