I don't get it. I search for listings located in Canada and a bunch of them are priced in US dollars with shipping to Canada in US$ identified as "international shipping". I don't want to pay in US$ for something that is located in Canada and shipped to me in Canada. I mean even the seller loses out too in that case, no? With the exchange rate fees? What am I missing?

Hello all. I recently made a purchase that I regret. I purchased what I thought was a Dragon Jeep toy but after purchase later in the day realized that this item was a model and not an assembled Jeep. A few other sellers have this same Jeep listed and some say that is assembled and some listings are somewhat obscure in their description. Some of the language used in the description of the item is somewhat lacking. I messaged the seller the same day to ask for a cancellation of my purchase and did not hear from the until the following day. They are saying that they had to get the item from their supplier and it will cost them $100.00. They want me to pay $ 50.00 at least to refund my purchase. Sounds kind of fishy to me. The item was $275.00. I definitely want my refund but I don't think I should be out $50.00 to get it.

I posted about this earlier but it seems to be the problem that refuses to die. In brief: Im in Canada and bought small item ($28 usd vintage language old audio cassettes/book (with usb stick of vintage audio backed up in case the cassettes dont work) + $18 GSP item) on Nov 26. TX Seller shipped late dec 4 AND shipped by media mail to GSP KY from TX instead of 1st class or priority (on his auction he says he'll ship 1st class for domestic mail). [PS seller claims its my fault because I asked for vintage item to be in box and he put it in a shoe box and therefore 1st class would have cost more than the $4.75 he had earmarked for 1st class mailer to KY] Anyway it gets accepted late in Dallas usps post office and then does not move for a full 10 days. I contact ebay and they tell me its considered lost. I contact usps and they say the same thing (and they say he should not have sent a usb stick in that it is violation of media mail rules and if they open it for inspection they will fine him and send it back). So ebay refunds me fully (INR) and they say "case closed" [At this point I consider it done also and order the same product closer to home (at higher cost in total from a collector) and received that one (FBA amazon.ca seller).] Now another 9 days pass --no movement. And after 19 days of no moment I get an auto message from usps that its been 'delivered' I find the track no. and its now at GSP getting "customs labelling". Seller suddenly contacts me and says "well discuss next steps I intend for the item to remain in your possession." A few pro sellers on this forum and through email tell me that it is not your concern now and that since its been accepted at GSP KY its up to GSP to refund the TX seller not you the buyer . I am told that its GSP/ebay will refund the seller. I am curious --is this true? I thought that only happens when the item leaves GSP KY and is lost/etc after it leaves GSP but before it reaches buyer (Toronto, Canada), not before (ie during the first leg of the trip from seller (TX) to GSP KY. Which one is it? Im confused. Also one ebay pro told me on private email that some sellers have tricked buyers in such cases: the seller gets a refund from GSP and then talks the buyer into giving a refund also telling them "you now received it you should pay me." The buyer than pays the seller and is none the wiser because the buyer does not call ebay staff to inquire if seller got refunded by GSP. Indeed, he said, many buyers especially Canadians do not know that US sellers can get refunded by GSP/ebay in such situations and go ahead and pay back their refund. Like I said I and ebay believe it was lost (no movement in the end for 19 days) before it suddenly appeared in GSP KY. Around day 10 of no movement (and after estimated delivery date of 17 bus days) ebay refunded me and said case closed. Now GSP receives it and is labeling it and suddenly seller wants to "talk about next steps.." I already bought and received the replacement elsewhere as I said since I honestly believed it was lost and so did ebay staff and they refunded me. Now the original TX order is at GSP KY. What should I do? What am I required legally and contractually as an ebayer in good standing required to do? And what should I tell the seller? I should also add I cannot deny the package at my home because the private couriers safe drop and I cannot open the door regardless. Im not only on lockdown but medically ordered to not go out (I have a condition that the doctor told me that I should not risk it "under any circumstances" so Ive been home for several months studying languages and trying to find a remote /internet job). I could try to contact GSP or whatever courier they eventually assign to intercept it if thats acceptable. If Im legally required to return it then Ill pay an uber or instacart driver to pick it up and deliver it to Can post if the seller pays return shipping. Please advise me if you can. background: I bought a book/audio(cassette) out of print language learning set from a seller in Texas. They had it advertised for GSM (Global Shipping Program) set at Priority Mail for Canada . I paid $18+ usd for shipping. I'm in Toronto and the seller is in Texas. When I bought it on Nov 25 I got no response and the person did not ship it. I emailed them and waited. No response at all but I did not worry since Nov 26 was US Thanksgiving --I thought they would respond to me. Seven days later they had not responded or shipped anything so I put in a claim as INR (item not recieved) on the advice of a Ebay support (I've never done a claim before). The Texan seller then responded immediately , apologized and shipped it (Dec 4 it was picked up by USPS). The Texan also asked me to close the claim as 'satisfied'. (Meanwhile, Ebay staff advised me to keep the claim open (which I did) until I actually get the package. I believe claims stay open for 30 days and then are automatically closed (in whose favor I don't know, I've never needed to do a claim before--though Ive been on eBay since 2001 )). I then recieved the USPS and GSM numbers on my dashboard and waited. The last USPS updated was Dec 8. Today is Dec 16 with no updates. Last one was in Dallas (on way to KY center). I thought that was strange since I paid for Priority and it should have went to the GSM center in Erlanger Kentucky quicker even during this time. PLOT TWIST: As a matter of fact I have a current similar purchase (also an out of print book/audio(CD) lang set from a similar lang learning series) from another seller, a lady in Clinton, Arkansas who advertised the same way: GSM to Canada and Priority shipping. I bought that on dec 9 she shipped it next day with usps --its been updated regularly and is already at the Kentucky Pitney Bowes center. It was also $18+ usd for shipping (advertised as Priority shipping to Canada via GSM). But she on the other hand kept her advertised promise and actually *DID* ship it via Priority. When I input her usps number it states that this is "Priority mail" and is insured for $50 etc. So Im waiting for hers with no problems. I just inputed the Texan sellers number into the same official USPS tracking site and it states "media mail". Now I did not notice this earlier because from the Ebay dashboard "order details" it states "priority mail" but once you input the number to usps site its a different story. Now here is an added wrinkle: Since this (the first order --the Texan sellers item) is going to take a long time to reach KY (usps media mail Im told is treated to the slowest movement) and status has not been updated since Dec 8 what should I do? If I wait too long the case will be auto-closed (I think) on the 30th day after dec 2 (so around Jan 1 New Years) but I don't know what happens at that point. From another thread I read that if its been 10 days with no movement then you should close the case and ask for a refund or call eBay to close the case and ask for a refund. Now I have no intention of keeping the full refund if the item eventually arrives (though I think I should get some sort of partial refund for the difference between media mail and priority). If I contact eBay on say Dec 18-19 (ie. 10 days no updates from Dec 😎 and they give me a full refund plus PB (Pitney Bowes ) shipping fees and the item eventually DOES arrive I would *immediately* contact eBay to reverse the refund at that time. What do you think? Should I do the above? Or just wait until the time runs out and it closes automatically around New Years day (whether its arrived or not) --though in that case I dont know what the eBay decision would be. Or wait some more until its updated but before the case closes or etc ? I really dont know what I should do . Im a good buyer and paid in good faith. Please advise. Also : if the Texan seller had been honest and done what the Arkansas seller did this would have been avoided. AND if I hadn't opened a case so early there would have been more time allowance for the Texan seller. other details: I paid via credit card directly to eBay (not PayPal because I had inputed a new cc from the expired one and it had not been verified yet and PP did not let me use it until verification which would not have been for several days) Please pardon this long post! Any help would be appreciated

Last Christmas season, I ordered " 10.1 " 4G LTE Tablet It was amazing price, just around $50, but I realized that is just Keyboard, not device. so I contacted seller immediately, I send the message, Please cancel my order, it was my mistake. I sent this message within 10 min after ordered. But they answer me that keyboard was sent already. Can you imagine? they sent it within 10 min after ordered? Anyway seller said, when I got a parcel, I can return it and they will return my money. So I sent back that parcel, it was taken around one month. Delivery one month, return one month..... After 2 and half months later, this seller suggested me, they want to send the real device, instead of return my money. yap that is real good suggestion. so I said Yes~ Thanks. But... That it.... I have been waited more than 35 day again. But my post box is still empty and they did not return my money also. I contacted them several time but they said just wait wait wait. Please solve this long term problem. have a nice day

I recently purchased 3 coins (coins originating from the Royal Canadian Mint that were tax exempt) from 3 different sellers, all residing in Alberta. I did a lot of searching before I bought and most ads stated that these coins were tax exempt. The last coin I purchased, the seller charged me taxes (the other 2 sellers did not). Is this just a 'too bad, it sucks to be me' for not being more careful, or the seller's ads are all set up to charge tax on all his items? I am not going to make a big thing out of this, I already paid and want the coin, but if there was a chance of getting the tax refunded, that would be nice. I did send the seller a friendly question about it. Everyone - please stay safe and away from others during covid-19, which is going to last for months. Good luck to all.

Hi everyone. I have been dealing with a situation with a seller and Global Shipping. I recently purchased a 1971 Schwinn Lemon Peeler crate bike from a seller in the U.S. The seller shipped the bike to Global Shipping in Kentucky using a bike shipping company called Ship Bikes .com. I kept watch on the tracking on the bike but nothing was happening. The only tracking shown was that the seller shipped the bike, nothing else. I contacted the seller who is a little slow to respond and he did finally let me know all the info on the bike shipper etc. The bike had arrived a Global shipping last Saturday, the 29th. The tracking still hasn't been updated since it left the seller. I noticed that the information provided by ShipBikes.com showed that my last name wasn't included in the shipping and so that had me a bit worried. I finally phoned eBay, no way to contact Global Shipping anymore, and they contacted G.S. I received a message from G.S. and they say everything is fine and the bike will be delivered. Still no tracking. I'm still worried. I am considering contacting eBay again. Not sure what to do, wait or call!

Hi folks. I sure have had quite a couple of days with a buyer from North Dakota. I had two Masterpiece dolls listed and she contacted me about buying them together. The dolls had been listed for a time and were already packed and ready to go in their separate boxes. I have been so busy preparing for Christmas but I agreed to unpack the dolls and repack them together, do the measuring and weighing and get the shipping costs back to her. During this process she is continually messaging me about how to pack the dolls, asking all kinds of questions. She sent me 13 different messages. The problem is that after she paid for them she found out that eBay was charging her $17.00 import fee on the purchase which she did not like at all. This is where the situation gets odd. She messages me stating that she was on the phone with PayPal and they told her that if I refund her money back to her she wouldn't have to pay the $17.00 and then she would resend the money through PayPal. I got a message from her stating that she sent the money but nothing is showing in PayPal. My balance shows as a big 0. She is also apparently very angry at eBay and PayPal, eBay for not being forth right with the extra fees from buying internationally and PayPal who she says lied. When she was in contact with them earlier in the day they told her she wouldn't lose her eBucks and wouldn't pay any fee's. She says that when I refunded her the money, she lost her eBucks of $33.00. Should my PayPal account show her transfer of funds to me right away or is there a delay. I'm kind of freaking out thinking that I have been had. She hasn't responded to my last messages. I was not comfortable with what this buyer was asking of me through the purchase process and now I am feeling like a idiot for falling for something that may cost me over $500.00. Help please!

Item was purchased Nov.20/10 from Plano Texas tracked and is now Nov. 29 in Erlanger Kentucky for customs labelling and shipping to Toronto Ontario. Buyer was paid through Paypal and Pitney Bowes The item is expensive and highly sought after at the moment. Today the seller sent me the following message via eBay: " Hi, I accidentally forgot some important cables you need and was wondering if I could send them to your Newark address because it would cost me much more to send it to your current address. Please let me know, thanks and sorry for the inconvenience. I responded: "What cables? I have no Newark address - only the Toronto address which was provided. I can wait a reasonable amount of time (arrival by mid-December) for the cable shipment to arrive but please ship with insurance, signature required, and provide us with the tracking number.Keep in touch.Thank you." His answer:"The cable is so you can connect it to your computer. The address I mentioned was the message you sent me about changing the shipping address originally to your parent's house in Newark but I can ship to Toronto still. I will need you to provide me your Toronto address though because ebay considered your order international and had me ship it to a distribution center and they took care of the rest. Also please note that the main package did not have an option for a required signature but it should have full insurance. Once I receive your address the cables should arrive pretty quickly. Thanks" How do I reply? How do I handle this? Worried. Many thanks.

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I have been on here. I have a lot of reasons to vent my problems with sellers recently but have refrained from doing so. I have been buying and selling on eBay for quite a while but in the last year I have had more issues with sellers than not! Too many items arriving broken, sellers not honoring a sale etc. Just recently I tried to buy a vintage Skyscraper lap from an American seller. He was using Global Shipping. I won the auction and paid. Later on in the day I noticed that my money had been refunded. I also received a message from the seller stating that when he took the lamp to UPS he thought the shipping charges of $51.00 was to expensive and decided to refund my money instead. I mentioned to him that he had Global Shipping on the item and he said that eBay must have changed the shipping. A few days ago I inquired about another lamp. A Uranium electric lamp. I am desperately looking for a Christmas present for my son. The seller sent new pictures and was very helpful. It didn't come with a shade and so I told the seller I would look for a shade and get back to him. I found the shade by the next day and went back to the lamp. The seller had changed the shipping for just the U.S. Why!! My problem now is a couple of packages coming from China. Both were purchased in October. One on the 8th and one on the 11th. Neither have showed up. I am wondering why eBay gives them to the end of December to arrive. That's almost 3 months. At the same token eBay only gives me 30 days or so to file a item not received claim. I can't file a claim until the end of December when that deadline date arrives which is well past the 30 days eBay gives. Does this mean that I would have to file a claim through PayPal and why would eBay's rules for these situations be so out of whack? You would think that if eBay allows upwards of 3 months for items to be delivered, then a buyer should have just as long to file a claim should the item not arrive and not have to go through PayPay for a refund. I am not purchasing on eBay much anymore because I have had so many problems. Not fun when so much of my time is spent dealing with problems because of bad sellers or too long shipping times.

so on November 2 i bought an Xbox one and it shipped on the fourth and i thought everything was normal until on the Friday when it had delivered to ERLANGER, KY when I live in Ontario so it has been 4 day since then and i have been trying and trying to see where the heck my item since the item was a part of global shipping program and i was given a global tracking however this number does nothing so i have no item where the my item is, if it is in the USA or if it is in Canada. so i'm kinda wondering if someone can help me with my predicament.

Why does it take 4 week's to get 1 Pokemon card from New York i am in Alberta Canada this should never take 4 weeks! I ordered a trunk for my car from RUSSIA! and i got it faster! then this card ordered at the same time. Question is. Why does this happen? card shipped April 29th and just now the card got to Alberta anyone else find this just nuts? does Ebay really not give 2 you know what's about this?

I message a seller and receive additional details about an item (for example the shutter actuation count of a camera). If those details turn out to be false can they be used to claim item not as described? Thank you.

The item did not arrive. I waited a couple extra weeks since it was coming from overseas. I then contacted the seller and asked for a replacement be sent. A couple days later the seller indicated replacement was sent and would be 20 days coming. Interesting coincidence that ebay resolution is for a 21 day period. I waited until two days before ebay said they would close the case April 6. I tried to contact them all day on April 4 but their site was " oops, we have had a technical difficulty, please try again later" down. The next morning, April 5 which is still a day before ebay said the case would automatically close, I receive noticed that they have closed it. I gave the seller a chance to make it right, waited patiently 5 months for an item, followed ebay rules to the letter. Ebay knows it's site was down for an extended period, ebay auto system closes a case early is just WRONG. I do feel ebay should set this right. james

Hello everyone. I recently contacted a seller in the U.S as to whether they would consider shipping up into Canada. I found their listing on eBay.com with no international shipping and so I sent along a message to inquire about this. The product is a bit silly. It has past memories of when I was little. My father who passed away when I was young used this product. It is called Heet. It was used back in the 60's for arthritis. The Heet comes in a glass bottle, about 4 inches tall and also comes with the original box. The seller states that is is a quarter full. I received a message back that because it has liquid in it they can't ship here. I have received perfumes, colognes and all kinds of paints for various hobbies including an entire guitar painting kit and so I was curious as to whether the seller is correct in this matter. Hello all. I recently purchase a piece of petrified wood from a seller in California. The shipping was Global Shipping. About 10 days after purchase the item showed to be delivered even though the tracking showed it to be still in Kentucky. I have not received any confirmation from Global Shipping that they received it even though it shows it has been delivered for 5 days. It shouldn't show it has been delivered if it had arrived at the Global Shipping center. I have found some information that the zip code for Global Shipping is 41018 but the seller used 41025. It is rather confusing since some information shows that 41025 was used by Global Shipping at one time. It appears from recent forums on eBay that other sellers have made this same mistake. I have phoned eBay and they say to wait a few days more. I am just wondering who got my log!!

Hi All, Maybe someone can explain what happened to me? I was watching an item that clearly stated in the listing "does not ship to Canada" which is fine, I live in Canada but I have relatives in the USA that I regularly have items shipped too and then forwarded on to me in Canada. Here is my issue. I watched the item for the last 7 days and as the auction was about to end I placed my max bid and hit the place bid button, when I did this I got an error message pop up that the seller doesn't ship to Canada....no guff I read the ad, I have a US shipping address. Is this because somehow my paypal account shows I am in Canada and somehow blocks my bid? I have won several other auctions where the seller did not ship to Canada (stated clearly in the ad) and I was able to place my bid and provide the us shipping address. This is a first for me. Anyone out there know what happened? I tried calling the Ebay help line but got no where! no answers from them (it was like the guy didn't even know what I was talking about) P.S The item sold for $100 USD less than what my max bid was for so really the seller lost out on this. Appreciate any comments/answers you might have!

Hello everyone , I bought 4 Items on EBay.ca last month . 2 Items are from Alberta - ship from Alberta 1 item is from BC ship from BC 1 item is from QC ship from QC Delivery time was 4-15 business days + CP Delay on delivery It turns out that delivery time change to 48 days , items are shipped from Chna and sit in Customs Canada . In all 4 listings is stated that items ship from destination Seller is selling not from China , not from Warehouse. EBay doesn't help anything , just show Item in Transit . I have to wait 48 Days to receive Items and pay Customs , no other option. Some of those Sellers have over 50.000 Feedbacks on EBay.ca As EBay monitoring private messages from Member to Member , it shoul'd monitor those Liars to. Non ot them is not restricted yet, beside thousands on negative feedbacks. It's more important to charge China Seller 1% than Canadian 14%. I lost trust and decided do not buy on EBay , EXCEPT from Sellers I trust . Is there anyone else with the same experience ? Any advice ? Thank you . Have great weekend.

Hello, Recently I received an item from a seller on eBay and the item was missing a piece and so I wanted to get a refund or exchange on the item. The seller and I ultimately decided to return the item. I used the "contact seller" option on the "My eBay: Summary" page for this order to initially contact the seller and have been in contact with the seller through the "My eBay: Messages" page for every message since. I sent the seller the package without tracking since they were okay with that. The thing is the package is being shipped back to them from Canada to Japan and the shipping and handling fees here in Canada can be very expensive. The least expensive option I could find with tracking would have costed approximately $70.00. Without tracking, the least expensive option I could find was about $20.00. I shipped the package back to them with the latter option and was told the delivery time would take about 2-3 months. My question is: What's the best thing I could do here on eBay to make sure I get a refund on this item? The seller also said they would cover the return shipping and handling fee. I'm concerned because the eBay Money Back Guarantee should only last until 30 days after the estimated delivery date, since the package wasn't tracked all the way to my doorstep. The package was only tracked until it left Japan. And even if I start a case, as far as I understand, I only have up to an additional 21 days since eBay will close cases if they last for longer than that. The estimated delivery date for this package, when it was sent to me was Sept. 11 - Nov. 6. I only just shipped it back today on October 10. Adding 30 days plus 21 days for the time I have to open a case and to leave it open only brings me to December 27, if I'm understanding everything correctly. I never used the "Return this item" button for this package and never received an email from eBay that said anything like the seller has accepted a return request from me. Am I taking the right steps, or is there something else I should do here? Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thanks, Jessica

Hello, I have bought a used laptop from a seller with no returns but the laptop is defective, broken. The listing says it's a used item with a 9/10 rating, no where does it say its not working. I have initiated the money back guarantee process but I'm wondering if I should of started the paypal process instead? It says in the help section you need to do one or the other not both. Anyone with a similar experience or insight into this scenario? Thanks very much

So the person I sold my item to has not picked up their package and it's been a week. They have another week left. The received a notice card and their email was automatically updated with notifications from Canada post. In the event, they leave the item there and it is returned to me will eBay still charge me the final value fee? and if so am I responsible for paying that?
