Good afternoon to everyone,

Julie--just joking. It was the only prices of the wedding dresses that was so shocking. I almost needed oxygen. There is the dress, the special bra, the slip (although you can rent those) shoes, veil, headpiece. I am not much of a detail person, and the veil and shoes are dyed to match and I had to remember to tell everyone that although the dress color is called "Ivory" it is the ivory of the designer Demetrius, not a yellow ivory. However, it made sense to all I had to inform (even the cake person) so I guess if you live in that world, you know that stuff. Making sure the brides bouquet had a deeper shade of roses and a slightly larger size of rose than the maid of honor, then the bridesmaids roses, another shade and smaller. Then the MOB and MOG corsages and the groom, best man, and ushers boutonnieres--and the flowers for the altar, pew ends, and reception and to arrange around the cake. Acck! Acck! Flashbacks!!!!!!!!!

There were wonderful moments and lots of laughs. We still laugh at the memory of the alterationist who grabbed DD's breasts and didn't let go. DD still remembers when the a. turned to me, hands squishing DD's breasts together asked if we would like more cleavage. Apparently, I yelled "no cleavage" I couldn't get a sentence formed! DD is tall, and almost model thin, but God gave her enough to look stunning without anyone taking her girls, uplifting and squishing them together. 🙂

LOL, Nikki, I would have smacked the alterationisth if she had grabbed me like that! I hated prom shopping more because the sales ladies all thought I was graduating from junior high (how insulting to an 18 year old!). Wedding dress shopping was much more fun although I remember trying on the Alfred Sung dress, saying, 'please look terrible, please look terrible!' because I'd seen the price tag and knew I wouldn't be able to buy it if it did fit.

Jess--Yes! We should have smacked her hands! I was so stunned I couldn't speak and my daughter was bright red and was waiting for me to do something.

Alfred Sung---bet that had a line of zeros on the price tag--good thing I didn't have to look at that one!

LOL! I just remember the episode of Friends where Chandler was upset by Joey's tailor's "cupping". Joey had thought that was normal and was shocked when Chandler said he wasn't supposed to move it over and then move it back! :^O

Nikki...LOL @ the famous cleavage incident! My wedding dress maker was more interested in tucking in my skin that barely hung over my strapless dress in back (I only weighed 110 lbs. the first time around...those were the days!). :)
