Welcome to a place where the BIBLE can be discussed rationally, intelligently, and positively without unnecessary argument!!
Welcome to a place where prayer can be requested and encouraged!!
Welcome to a place where positive and encouraging thoughts from scripture can be shared in a caring and loving way!!
Welcome to a place away from all the arguments, recriminations, and negativity of the outside world!!
Welcome to a place of rest and safety!!
Welcome to a place where Philippians 2:3 is practiced: "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves."
Welcome to this Christian thread.
(Please leave all aggression, bitterness, and philosophy outside the door and please wipe your feet before coming inside!!)

I live in my own little world. But it's OK... They know me Here!

Eph.6:10-17.

WHISPERS
The man whispered, "God, speak to me" and a meadowlark sang.
But, the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, "God, speak to me" and the thunder rolled across the sky.
But, the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, "God let me see you." And a star shined brightly.
But the man did not see.
And, the man shouted, "God show me a miracle." And, a life was born.
But, the man did not notice.
So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, and let me know you are here." Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.
But, the man brushed the butterfly away.... and walked on.
I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little and simple things that we take for granted ... even in our electronic age. So I would like to add one more:
The man cried, "God, I need your help!" And an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news and encouragement.
But, the man deleted it and continued crying .
Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect.
Have a great week everyone!:-x

“Standing up for my beliefs, no matter what, is one way I define being a person of integrity. It doesn’t matter if it’s in front of millions of people at the Super Bowl or one person in private; I try to stand true to who I am in the Lord.”

Is there a real need to understand "why"? Maybe looking for an answer to "why" keeps you from asking for strength to get through. Maybe if the "why" wasn't what the emphasis was placed on it may get easier for you to enjoy a fuller relationship with your God and Jesus during your down times as well as the up.
Susan, I'm just thinking kind of out loud there. I hope you're feeling better soon. Try to take good care of yourself now, this is when you need it the most.

Daisy you are right in that why is not the proper question. I am what I am and I do work very hard at accepting what I am.
Right now I mimic my "good" mood activities. I do all the things that usually make me feel good, even if I don't feel well. Sooner or later I will realize that I am feeling good.
I pray for strength and for the ability to cope, for both myself and others. We all have problems, it's just that everyone's problems vary.
I have learned much from my depressions and am blessed in that regard. I keep my life simple and I have my crafts that give me great fun. I work for myself so I am free to work during the best part of my day. My DH is very supportive. M dog even realizes when I am down and snuggles with me when I sleep.
I have the confidence that this episode will be short.

I came across an interesting short article in Macleans magazine today (Feb 16th, 2009 issue, page 49).
Talks about repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation to treat depression.
"The treatment makes a clicking noise like a woodpecker tapping".
Wondering if you've heard of this (the treatment, not the woodpecker)?
