Julie! Great news on the job! :-x

FIL was sent home from hospital today. We were surprised as we were told it would be Friday at the earliest. He's tired but resting now. I think he's finally on the road to recovery.

(((Nikki)))...still here until Monday! (PS...the bold print below is for you) 🙂

Just up the road is a field not far from here,
with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing.

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.

If nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound,you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray. When she
returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops occasionally and looks back, making sure her
friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.
Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see.

Good friends are like this...
You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is
fighting some kind of battle".

(((Christine)))) Good to hear your auntie is better, if not stubbornly so. 😉

My MIL has been diagnosed with a heart aneurism. It will eventually kill her, but she will not opt for the surgery, as she feels that may kill her prematurely. Stubborn...stubborn...but God bless her, she wants to go on her terms, and for some reason, I can't find any fault with that.

GOOD MORNING.......

~~~~~
An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to get into Heaven?"
The boy thought it over and said, "Well, I'll just run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Jimmy, come in or stay out!'" :-x
Good morning!
Julie, thank you for your lovely post:-x
I'm sorry to hear about your DMIL--maybe after she has lived with the diagnosis for a bit, she will change her mind. She had a rough time of it, and maybe going back in to a hospital is too hard for her to face right now.
Shirley--I always look forward to your posts.:-)
SINGING IN CHURCH
A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday morning. He said "Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach. Whatever single word I say, I
want you to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind. "
The pastor shouted out "CROSS."
Immediately the congregation started singing in unison, "THE OLD RUGGED CROSS."
The pastor hollered out "GRACE" .The congregation began to sing "AMAZING GRACE, how sweet the sound."
The pastor said "POWER" The congregation sang "THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD."
The Pastor said "SEX". The congregation fell into total silence.
Everyone was in shock. They all nervously began to look around at each other, afraid to say anything.
Then all of a sudden, way from in the back of the church, a little old 87 year old grandmother stood up and began to sing "PRECIOUS MEMORIES."
:^O :^O
Hi C! You know, she's 76 years old, all her brothers & sisters and her husband are gone. She's had a good life. I'm fairly certain the surgery might do her in, as she's a heavy smoker and her lung capacity isn't great. Soooo, I have to respect her wishes, although is scares me to think she might expire at any moment, perhaps while little DD is visiting. 😞
To all the phenomenal women on this board. . .
"A Woman"
This is written in the Hebrew Talmud, the book
where all of the sayings and preaching of
Rabbis are conserved over time.
It says: "Be very careful if you make a woman
cry, because God counts her tears.  The woman
came from man's side, a rib.   Not from his feet to be
walked on.   Not from his head to be superior, but
from the side to be equal.   Under the arm to be
protected,  and next to the heart to be loved."
I thought this is so neat and just had to share it. I had never heard this before...This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
