I'm not here to spread panic, but I would strongly advise everybody, be it the Wuhan virus or the common cold/flu virus, the BEST way to protect yourselves and your loved ones is frequent and diligent handwashing (with soap and water, or hand sanitizer), and to wear a surgical mask (if you can still find them). Cover your mouth and nose by sneezing into your elbow (not your hands!), or if you used your hands then wash them as soon as possible before you touch anything else.
If you recently traveled back from high risk countries with confirmed Wulan Coronavirus (such as China), please isolate yourself at home, for 14 days if possible, as that's the incubation period of the virus. The symptoms quite vary with this virus, not everybody would present with a fever and some people stay asymptomatic. Avoid crowded areas, and wear a medical grade surgical mask if possible. Part of the reason why the numbers skyrocketed recently is because of the long incubation period; people who thought they weren't sick and didn't take precautions, ended up being sick. One doctor already died in China from this virus, and thousands (actual number is probably way more) infected.

Does anyone know of a good site for Ontario that breaks cases down to areas? The Ontario page had it for like a day then it was removed for some reason, there is less and less on the Ontario page. It would be helpful to know whats going on in our direct communities as the cities tend to be hot spots.
Quebec does a good job with this: https://www.quebec.ca/sante/problemes-de-sante/a-z/coronavirus-2019/situation-coronavirus-quebec/#c4...

Best you can probably do is check your city website or your local health authority. My region is only issuing updates 3 times a week. https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/health-and-wellness/2019-novel-coronavirus.aspx#

This could be an attempt to keep people from feeling secure (and relaxing precautions) just because they are in an area with few cases.
One big problem with Ontario is the large backlog of processing tests. Currently you are looking at a delay of 4-7 days before finding out the results of a test. The province is ramping up the number of labs who can do processing so that should fall to 2-4 days by the end of this week and 1-2 days by the middle of April. So the number of cases is understated. Just because there are no local cases confirmed, does not mean there are no cases.
The province is also hoping to be first in line with an order of new test kits from Spartan Bioscience. The kits are currently being fast tracked for approval by Health Canada. The Spartan devices are portable, and quickly return a test result (about 1 hour). Estimate end of April before the kits will be available.

Over 20% of the cases are health care professionals. For two reasons: high risk work environment, and just as important, they are far more likely to get tested than anyone else.

False info can be deadly...
a recent report from Iran's Fars province found that more people had died from drinking industrial-strength alcohol (based on a false claim that it could protect you from Covid-19) than people who had died from the virus.

First death in United States was earlier than originally reported (Feb 6 instead of Feb 26)
The earliest deaths were for people who had not travelled out of country (and were not tested when they were alive).

Vaccines under development
More than 90 vaccines are being developed against SARS-CoV-2 (covid-19) by research teams in companies and universities across the world. Researchers are trialling different technologies, some of which haven’t been used in a licensed vaccine before. At least six groups have already begun injecting formulations into volunteers in safety trials; others have started testing in animals.

Canada has flattened the curve and most provinces are slowly reopening.
Study in New York state (checking for Covid-19 antibodies) indicate that the actual number of people who have had Covid-19 could be 10 times higher the number of confirmed cases.

Which means Canada could have 10X higher cases. In my neck of the woods we've had deaths suspected as being Covid-19 but but testing in some cases are not being done. I'm not sure if it's a lack of resources or the Government would rather have it seen as their plans are working.
I'm not paranoid, just cautious.
