Pokémon TCG Pocket Players Have Started a Black Market

eBay Seems to Be the New Trading Hub

Listings for Pocket cards have skyrocketed over the past few weeks. The listings for the digital cards explain that they are looking to trade the card in-game for real-world cash. Listings tell buyers to have the Trade Tokens, Stamina and extra ex cards they need to do the trade, meaning that part can't be escaped. But by making a deal out of the game, both the buyer and seller have more control over how they trade and avoid some of the in-game restrictions.

eBay’s newest Nvidia GPU scams are even dumber than before

If you value your sanity, don’t try to buy a new graphics card on eBay right now. I had to take a peek at it on Monday and it’s, to use the technical parlance of my profession, a **bleep**show. In addition to the usual scalpers trying to make a small fortune off of already expensive GPUs, a new scam tactic has appeared for the red-hot Nvidia RTX 5090 and 5080 cards.

It goes like this, according to Alex Blake of Digital Trends. The listing shows a new card at retail price or just above. For the sake of the RTX 5090/5080, and on eBay specifically, this is literally too good to be true — even selling a $2,000 GPU on eBay for sticker price would put a seller well into the red after shipping and seller fees.

This is illegal, of course. Selling the digital cards for money is not allowed, but Pokémon hasn't responded to the eBay posts just yet. The TCG community, however, is hoping it's a wake-up call for the company. They have taken to Reddit to ask for a safe way to connect with the community, meaning sites like Discord and eBay would no longer be needed to trade. Right now, unfortunately, the app doesn't allow trainers to know exactly what card they're receiving in a trade on top of the crazy price to trade to begin with.

Ebay, Instacart, DoorDash Sign Up to Test OpenAI’s New Agentic Tool, Operator

Ebay, DoorDash, Instacart and Uber are among the companies that have signed on to participate in the research preview of OpenAI’s new AI agentic interface, called Operator.

OpenAI describes Operator as “an agent that can go to the web to perform tasks for you.” Similar to other “agentic” AI tools from companies like Google, Salesforce and Perplexity, Operator acts as a virtual assistant, autonomously performing tasks across the internet, including online shopping, ordering groceries, filling out forms, creating memes and booking travel.

New Payment Option on eBay: Buy Now, Pay by the Middle of the Next Month in One Invoice (Germany)

The monthly invoice offers great flexibility, as customers receive their purchases for an entire month in one invoice and can then pay by direct debit or bank transfer.

The online marketplace eBay is introducing a new payment option in Germany. eBay shoppers can now use the “monthly invoice” and pay for their monthly purchases in a single invoice they receive on the first calendar day of the month. The new payment option, a popular way to pay in Germany, offers even great flexibility and control to German eBay shoppers in how they pay when they purchase on eBay.

“With the monthly invoice, we are offering our customers another way to tailor their online shopping experience to their wishes,” says Dr. Saskia Meier-Andrae, Managing Director of eBay Germany. “We know that our buyers want an easy and fast solution for combining payments for multiple purchases. This is exactly what we are now making possible with the monthly invoice from Riverty.” Nothing changes for eBay sellers with the monthly invoice, they receive their money as before in accordance with the agreed payout plan.
