How to change identity (name / handle) when posting to ebay community?

Is there a way I can change or set my posting (ie visible) name or handle when posting to ebay community message forums?

Do you mean have a different name/handle associated with posting than for buying/selling but still have it associated with the same account?

Or do you just want to change your existing ID, which would also affect it for buying and selling if you were to use it for that?

Keep in mind that your ID's feedback card and any listings you may have active are accessible from these discussion boards unless you make them private, so a change to your ID only for posting would still have a link to your buying/selling ID.

Many of us have multiple IDs.

While I have seven myself, and use the four active ones for listing and for posting here, many sellers (and buyers) have an account which they use only for posting.

So just open another account.

Unless you are selling you don't have to sign up for Managed Payments.

BTW. If you have a very specific problem, posters who can see the account with the problem can give better advice.
Most will be honest with their opinions, politely.

Yes, a different handle/name for posting here.  When I signed up on ebay years ago, as a buyer, I had no anticipation or any reason to be aware of these forums or participate in them.   Anything I post here doesn't need to be "linked" to my account, I've only ever posted general observations and issues with how the various delivery systems work as a buyer. 

I don't see why there couldn't be a setting for these community posts to have a different visible handle name.  It gives an extra layer of separation and security between my (or your) ebay account credentials and any bot that can scan these posts and pick up identity information.
